I have faith that Macca and the team have gotten him to permanently extract the digit. He makes our forward line look so dangerous, just needs to keep the effort up and build the confidence to be a consistent player.

Anyone notice how often Campbell was the one that got the ball to Grant? or spilt off his hands? or just made a contest to allow Grant opportunity. Big wraps for Tommy
Think about last year or year before last when Tom Started playing for us looked like he had anchors attached to him look at him now bloody hell

the longer it's sat with me the happier i am we've signed this guy up for 2 years. He probably won't have be mr consistency but i trust macca to get the most consistency out of him that's possible.

The guy is a game breaker. I can't think of many players in the comp with better goal sense than Jarrad Grant. He's close to impossible to stop and takes pressure of players like Dickson and Dahlhaus.

Agree - the only person who can completely nullify Jarrad Grant at his best is Jarrad Grant.

Update 19/2/14 -- Grant progressing well

Forward Jarrad Grant has made steady gains after injuring his foot during in mid-January and will take another step forward in his rehabilitation this week. “Jarrad has recently seen the specialist and has had the all clear to come out of the boot and start fully weight bearing which is a real positive sign for him,” McKenzie said.

Did not play (injured). Was however seen walking freely.

Here are some highlights of Jarrad anyway.

Can't wait until he's back in the team. Such a unique player with his marking ability, speed and goal sense. Can see him kicking a fair few goals this year. Can't wait to see him Crameri and Jones in the same team.

Update 28/3/14

Meanwhile, Jarrad Grant is making gains in his rehabilitation program, with an eye to escalate his training load if given the all clear from the specialist early next week.

“Jarrad has been working really hard, he’s been progressing well with his injury but at this stage the next point of call is a review with the surgeon next week on Monday – we hope that will be really positive,” he said.

“From there we will be able to progress his running outside, we think he is on track to build up and we will take it from there.”

Funny how Grant was shown riding a scooter at training last week and this week Chris Judd gave it a go. Nice try Chris. Also it's "port of call" not "point of call".

Also this which I haven't been bothered to watch:

Update 1/4/14

Jarrad Grant is one step closer to his football return, after Western Bulldogs medical staff today gave him the all clear to progress to the next level of his rehabilitation program.

The forward injured his foot in January but Medical Services Manager Andrew McKenzie said Grant received the best possible news after seeing a specialist on Friday.

“Jarrad was reviewed by the specialist on Friday and had scans and they have come back really good,” McKenzie said.

“The surgeon was happy with how he recovered, he’s given him the all clear to keep progressing – he’s running outside and he’s feeling great at the moment.”

Update 29/4/14

The man himself just said on twitter that he'll be back playing next week.

I can't wait for his return. I really believe he has finally worked out how to be an effective forward for us. He knows his role and will really compliment our forward line. With Dickson back in the team showing good form and Grants return, there will be a healthy competition for spots. Only Crameri will be safe. But I reckon our starting 6 in the forward line when Grant is back will be Jones, Crameri, Grant, Dickson, Dahl and Hunter. With Stringer on interchange bench, and Gia as the Sub. Jones could lose his spot to Campbell aswell, but would prefer Jones in.

Definitely missing the x-factor that is Jarrad Grant.
Favourite clip in those highlights was the centre bounce one against magpies, and grant just burned everyone around him and ran straight into an open goal.
Really excited for the Jones, Crameri and Grant show.
Hope he does well this week in the VFL, even though he generally plays better an AFL level as never really gets in the best in the VFL. Hopefully the Footscray team is different. Maybe he just couldn't play well at Williamstown

Update Round 6 vs Sandringham (VFL)

Made his long-awaited return showing no signs of his foot injury or a decent feed.

Only played the last 3 quarters and ended up with 8 kicks, 4 handballs pushing high up the ground. Looked half a pace off the action so will need another couple of runs before he is back in the Seniors and tearing the comp a new one.

Update Round 8 vs Coburg (VFL)

Second game back, statswise 12 kicks, 4 handballs, kicked 2.2 although other reports say he kicked 3, let's just say he kicked 4 and call it even.

The AFL website says "The forward line looks set to get some much-needed firepower with Jarrad Grant kicking three goals [let's say 4] in the VFL on the weekend in his return from a broken foot."
