I'm still going to want to top myself if/when he leaves, but have kind of been staying away from getting too excited (aside from on gameday, because who doesn't love those massive marks) because I've always sensed he wanted to go home.

Oh well :(

Freo are looking to the post Pav era and word is they want Hogan and Mcarthy as a 2 pronged attack, just hope you guys get fair compensation.
P1zz off d1ckwad.

It's what any manager worth his salt would suggest re the new CBA.

I have zero doubt he'll negotiate a new contract at the end of the year, but in the meantime I'll have to put up with flogs like you.

"Compensation" ? Educate yourself, fool.

Warney's IPL team!
Smart move by the kid, this doesn't insinuate that he is leaving as he is contracted for 2017. He is just holding out to maximize his contract through a new CBA and what Melbourne will be willing to pay him after another productive year!

Absolutely not worried. Smart move by the manager - of course Jesse's worth will only increase as the year goes on.

If the same thing happens this time in 12 months, then I'll be very worried.

As long as he doesn't say he wants to be a 'one club player' than i'm pretty happy with the way things are progressing and am not worried yet, if this continues into 2017 then i'll hit that panic button

Be ******* stupid to not hold off til end of the year. Was always going to happen if he didnt sign b4 the start of the season. Thought you paid a manager so you could concentrate on footy but ok. Just come out and say hogans gonna tear shit up this year so we milking these campaigners for as much as we can.

I'd do the same if I were him. Substantially more money to be made if he holds until after Nov 2016. If he hasn't signed before season 2017, time to neck ourselves.

Means nothing. He wants to talk contract extension at the end of 2016. A year before his current one ends. Good thing. He could've just said "I don't want to talk about it now", but the fact he and his management have said they want to talk at the end of the year is something I take as a good thing.

Also lol at how quick the entire of WA jumped all over this.

CBA increases can be written into contracts right now, thats not the issue here

Guys, please read this. it is so much common sense.

Dover (his manager) said uncertainty over the next AFL collective bargaining agreement, which expires on October 31, was among the reasons for the decision to delay talks.

The new CBA will include changes to the total player payment.

"We just felt that he has played one year of good footy and he is only young so he needs time to just focus on his footy and worry about contracts later," Dover said.

He'd be a damn fool to sign a contract now. His value's only going one way.
