Sorry Phillyroo. The word Base shouldn't be there. Will delete in a minute. I tried to post something starting with "Based on....then changed my mind, clicked the back button however the word "Base decided to rear its head in my next post. Please ignore it (or me).

Really uncomfortable that our club is associated with this.

I don't trust Majak. What was it Arocca said about him - "lying was a way of life for him" or words to that effect.

I have a very bad feeling about this one.

Steady down. We are not here to make judgement on Majak or anyone else.

Just drove past the club, news crews and vans everywhere.

Cos that's the best thing to do for all concerned. What sexual assault victims and their accused really need is more three ring media circuses.

FFS. /sarcasm.

Then don't make a judgement at all.....

You don't trust him because of that?

The poster did not denigrate the parties involved, merely stated that in cases where false accusations are made (and they do happen) that there are similarities in the charges laid.
FWIW cops often go 'charge fishing'. For example they'll file 20 charges and after proceedings commence reduce them to the ones they think are likely to stick.

It also means if they stuff up or pick the wrong charge they can continue with the existing application and just drop the ones that won't fly.

And I assume that you are not suggesting that these charges are false here utility , just providing a context for how charges can be laid.

In a case like this i always find it strange that the name is immediately mentioned of the accused, now when its a case of child molestation or a phedophile, no names given no photos published....can't understand that for the life of me.....

How does one clear their name in a Rape case?

It'll be his word against hers, will the 7 year wait factor into it at all?

Doesn't sell the papers maybe.

why does it take 7 years to have someone charged with rape?
Various reasons. The victim may not have felt comfortable disclosing the alleged crime at the time, and has only recently come forward.

Making a rape allegation is a very serious thing to do. The alleged victim undergoes a lot of scrutiny from police (even still!) and members of the public and can be made to go through invasive medical procedures which only add to the trauma

It's more the fact, how does the prosecution prove, beyond reasonable doubt, he did.

Is this a serious question?.

Every victim is different and deal with it in different ways. Some are scared to come forward and will do so when they feel right to do so.

It is ignorant to say because it was 7 years ago that everything is ok. Look at the Rolf Harris case, most of them incidents date back 50-60 years.

If he is found guilty he will do his time. Until then he remains innocent. Let it run its course and hope the right outcome is reached , that be guilty/not guilty.
