if we play majak, goldy, brown, waite, drew all in the same team again this week against a side who has running team due to injuries to tall players, we will go very close to losing. Brown or Daw have to go out

I don't believe so.

Edit - rookies can be traded but need to become senior listed players to where they are traded.

I still firmly believe Maj will remain a Roo.

Of course he will, has no hope of getting a better offer or any offer to continue inthe AFL :p

If someone is willing to offer us a second round draft pick or an outside mid fringe type, I reckon the club will jump at the chance to offload him. That is a big if however and Daw has a lot more to do and prove over the remainder of the VFL season.

Preuss clearly showed on the weekend that he is progressing nicely and with Goldstein still having four to five years of quality football ahead of him, I reckon we are fine either way without Majak. Should Drew and/or Waite retire at season's end, Black can come in and fill that void with Wood playing deeper as well. Majak is therefore redundant at North and if opportunities do open up for him elsewhere that allow the club to get something half decent in return then that will suit both parties well.

“Look, I love North Melbourne,” Daw said.

“I’ve been here for seven years. I’m just happy to wait for my opportunity when it comes. I’ve got great guys ahead of me - Todd Goldstein who’s an All-Australian ruckman, Drew Petrie, Jarrad Waite.

“All those guys are in good form, so I think I’ve just got to be patient and ready when the opportunity comes. That’s all I can do.”

Daw has improved out of sight since the Kangaroos gave him a chance on their rookie list and he was found not guilty of three counts of rape in the pre-season, ending a traumatic period of his life.

Daw’s manager Adam Ramanauskas said it was far too early to enter contract talks.

“There’s nothing sinister here whatsoever … but from (North Melbourne’s) point of view and his point of view I’m sure they want to see him play a bit more football,” Ramanauskas said.

The Kangaroos have long preferred to ruck All-Australian star Todd Goldstein solo while the evergreen form and durability of key forwards Drew Petrie and Jarrad Waite have also hurt Daw’s chances.

Ben Brown quickly jumped up the pecking order despite Daw’s ritual of tearing Werribee VFL games apart laced with regular splashes of excitement.

Unless Petrie or Waite retire it is unlikely Daw could permanently penetrate Scott’s side in 2017.

Daw kicked 6.4 in just his fourth game to burst onto the AFL scene but has struggled to maintain his breathtaking best for four quarters.

Daw is well clear of Aaron Black, who could again consider a move back to Perth, and would appeal to several clubs who would offer greater AFL opportunities.

“We’ve supported Majak through some really tough times and we expect to support him through the rest of his football career,” Scott said.

“Whether he plays this week or not I’m not sure yet, but what we did see was enough to suggest that he’s going to be a feature for the rest of the year.

“We played him to see how he’d work in with our other forwards and rucks and to give us some flexibility, because the reality is if we didn’t try it we wouldn’t know.”

Daw was delisted last year and then placed on the rookie before winning elevation back to the senior list in May.

I just wanted this somewhere handy and I am using sticky notes to remind me Collingwood are a club looking down a barrell.

I keep hearing about opportunities taken, so I went back and had a look at the first 1150 minutes played be both Majak and Brown, due to sub use and maybe fitness levels Ben got to this level during his 14 game, 17 games after his debut, where as Daw got to this level during his 17th games 3 years and 4 games after his debut.

so not really sure beside accuracy, uncontested marks and less clangers that the facts support the belief Brown grabbed his opportunities anymore then Daw, more like he had more opportunities along the way.

Yeah Brown is a lot more of a 'natural' footballer. Probably why he's been given the opportunities, in saying that am fairly confident we wanted to a) protect Maj from negative comments. b) Realised his short comings.

At the end of the day, I'll be a happy camper if Brown and Daw are out two go-to-forwards post 2017. But a great post and shows there's not the huge gap that some suggested. A good thing for us.

NN, I have no problem with BBB having the chances he has had, but crikey I am over people telling me Maj has not made the most of his opportunities when the stats prove convincingly there is very little difference between the two, so to those that like to tell me BBB took better advantage of his opportunities, please stop pissing in my pocket and telling me it's raining.;)

Mate we're playing the same tune:)

Could not agree more. I cannot for the life of me work out why Majak has caused what I believe is a disproportionate amount of angst on this board?

Yeah he's been in the system seven years, why's that matter? Isn't that the idea of the rookie list? Pay someone vey little they're not taking a spot on the primary list etc.

And during the seven years of Majak, we've hardly drafted any decent KP's. We've Durdin and McKay who are 3-4 years away from playing decent AFL footy.

I suppose the above is what I'd like answered, also wouldn't mind Buddy on one of his many arch runs and being blindsided by Maj and bam sent into next week.

When Majak kicks 4 in a final in front of 70 000 at the G you can mention him in the same breath as Brown. Until then...
