Gee, Francis is a false favorite for the Rising Star Award - You've got to play close to 20 games to win this typeof award.
No idea why he's the favourite - for me he's an unknown quantity in terms of what we can expect in 2017.

Wouldn't be surprised if he won it, wouldn't be surprised if he doesn't poll a vote.

Good to see! That'll improve his fitness levels immediately and reduce the injury risk (i.e. through carrying less weight).

If only Shane Watson had actually lost weight he might've actually gotten a good consistent run in the Test, ODI and T20 sides.

I think you'll find that many Australian bowlers and not just Shane Watson have had issues with stress fractures in their backs.

Wasn't just his back; there were shoulder, calf and hamstring injuries as well. The leg injuries could've been prevented (or at least their impact minimised) if he'd actually lost weight.

Different sport. I would put a lot of that down to their bowling action. Also, as a young bowler, to be as fast as you can is usually the goal. It's generally not until you learn that speed doesn't necessarily get wickets, comes with age and experience. Not many 28-30 year old quicks trying to knock your head off. Not saying you can't name players (i.e. Mitch Johnson, Andrew Flintoff, Brett Lee) who got quicker with age or stayed at a similar pace throughout their career but most of the greats slowed down and used their nouse (i.e. Allan Donald, Curtly Ambrose, Glenn McGrath).

I didn't know Aaron Francis was a pace bowler for Australia?

Yup! Also not fussed in which position he plays as long as he settles for now.

He'll play forward, I have decided. Don't worry I'll tell Woosha :p
If he plays forward, hooker needs to play back. Having our 2 best intercept marks forward would be silly.

Gut feel is they'll look to settle him back as a 3rd tall.

This guy is going to be a rock star.
