Traded #10: Aaron Francis - Traded to Sydney w. Pick 42 + Future fourth rounder for Pick 37. Thanks Frang!

His five intercept marks vs Saints were his most in a game since the Port finale back in 2018 when he took 8.
Also probably his best game since then.

What time do some people go to bed.
FFS wake up, open your eyes and observe how good this bloke is. WATCH CLOSER.

Just feel like this fella could be considered one of the best key backs in the game if his body holds up and we have two of Stewart/Lav/Ambrose/BZT taking the gorillas.

ROnny Lerner had a much more charitable view of Franga's performance yesterday than RoCo. I actually thought he did a pretty decent job on Buddy other than the one mark in first quarter. BZT was playing on Buddy for the last goal too.

thought he was excellent. Against King (young, tall, mobile) & Buddy (freak, strong) he's managed to curtail their influence.

Did everything he could for Buddy's 2nd.
All in all, Buddy was quiet. Shame Reid tore us apart.

Pretty ordinary take from RoCo there.
Listening to the Footyology Podcast I dont think he's a massive fan of Francis in general which is fair as Francis hasnt delivered on the hype to date.
But I think this year you have to give credit to him that he is basically leading the backline with Ridley and playing on the key forwards, overall I think he has been really good and has only made a handful of his brain fart errors (I can only think of the one out on the full in the last quarter yesterday which was bad but doesnt compare to the number of mistakes parish/pidge/langford made)

I mean, one of Franklin’s was a joe the goose, one was a contested situation where Franklin was out of position so he grabbed the jumper with both hands and threw him out of the way which should have been a free against and the last he did admittedly get his wires crossed with Zerk a little but s**t happens.

Thought he was pretty good, when you are limiting Franklin to just getting on the end of a couple you've done a decent job.

have to agree, I'm usually pretty hard on him but he's been handling the extra responsibility pretty well

Looked overmatched from the start but he just battled away and I thought got a reasonable outcome in the end. Could have dropped his head when Buddy got two early......was pleasing they stuck with him and pleasing that he stuck to his task. Reckon Truck would have been rapt with him and that the club would have put a lot of internal value on what he did.

I think this sustained period of being asked to play accountable footy, often on number 1 forwards, is going to be the making of him. Starting to think it's what we should have done with him from day 1. Think Truck is handling him really well and that he is responding.

Can’t believe how unfit he still is. Was watching him in the second half and once he was involved in a contest he couldn’t get out of a walk or get back to defend and help out. Still fumbles and drops easy marks when under pressure. Still have Ambrose any day over him.

Got in front of Buddy a few times and to read the ball better. One was from a pissy pass, another over the top. Francis has done well last few games, don’t understand the criticism especially from RoCo

Buddy usually feasts on Essendon, but he really wasn't all that yesterday. Hooker and Stringer also kicked 3.1 last night – the three of them were the leading goal kickers for the match – not that you'll hear much about them.

Francis deserves some credit.
