If you really love football, then you love watching Ben Cunnington. It takes a slightly subtler eye, but if you’re a genuine fan of the sport, he’s a marvel.

People assume he’s a pure ‘grunt’ player based on his appearance, statistics and his complete lack of speed which is very apparent at first glance. He might be the slowest midfielder in the AFL

But look closer and you see the amazing vision in his handballing, his poise with ball in hand through traffic and the way he creates time in traffic shaping to handball, the fend offs, bulshit contested marks, nonchalant set shots, shrugging off tackles...

It’s a been a privilege to watch him for 200 games.

Most weeks I get at least 2 or 3 texts from non-North supporting mates going on about how good he is.

Just some of the qualities that make Ben a champion of the NMFC. Congratulates Ben on an incredible 200 games.

Oh yeah and that jumper punch a couple of years ago to Bernie Vince. God I loved that.

Tim Kelly is that good! Kelly is the best in the comp hands down.. Cripps is good but has nothing on cunners in 2019!

Cunners isn't as big as you might think.

It's how he uses the weight that's important (and much rarer). Last year i was surprised when up close (hate to say it but Martin can do it too)

I agree he might be over 90 now tho.

He's built, has the tough guys persona with bogan mask etc, yet is like a complete walkover in any contest.
