Crazy hey.

He’s the last leg of a multi that’s from a couple of horse races a few months back. If we’d won more games I reckon he’d be closer to 30-1.

It’s all about media hype. Cripps is favourite at $4 and Carlton get smashed most weeks but the footy media absolutely love him because he’s eye catching (and obviously a gun player). Cunnington needs a keener eye because his brilliance is so subtle. Cunnington is a footballers footballer.

Guy has gone another level this season. I love him and how he competes and competes and competes and just can’t be killed.
He really epitomises North Melbourne Football Club.
Will fight till the last dog dies is too tough to die, no frills and gets the job done nearly all the time

But will still be 400th in the glamour poll Brownlow though.

Being the great guy he is would not give a seconds thought to vapid personal recognition / awards. Wouldn’t register in his value system.

depressing reading the posts by non-north supporters about cunners on the main board. just when you think he is starting to get the credit he deserves...

quietly dominant game tonight. what a season hes having.
You know when you talk footy to a group of people at work etc and you start to analyse the game a bit deeper and they look at you blankly. They then just regurgitate crap they read in the Hun or on Social media to sound like they are on point. This is the main board.

3. This might be the year Ben Cunnington becomes an All Australian
Yes, Cunnington plays in the most difficult part of the ground to be selected, but the North Melbourne bulldozer is making a hell of a case to earn his first All Australian selection. Against the Suns he was sublime, clearing the ball a staggering 14 times – an equal career high – among his 31 disposals. The 27-year-old is ranked first in the AFL for contested possessions (the stat most coaches agree is the game's most important) and clearances. Patrick Cripps, Lachie Neale, Tim Kelly, Stephen Coniglio and Nat Fyfe (among others) have built strong cases through the first half of the season, but if Cunnington continues this form, the AA selectors will have no choice but to honour the Kangaroo for the first time. - Michael Whiting

So he ranks first in two stats that people think are most important, yet he has to do it for longer than the other guys to be deemed worthy?

s**t logic.

He has the media's blessing progressively, and in the end AA selection is just by media pandering.

So yes, this year is the year he becomes an All Australian. Book it in.

If you really love football, then you love watching Ben Cunnington. It takes a slightly subtler eye, but if you’re a genuine fan of the sport, he’s a marvel.

People assume he’s a pure ‘grunt’ player based on his appearance, statistics and his complete lack of speed which is very apparent at first glance. He might be the slowest midfielder in the AFL

But look closer and you see the amazing vision in his handballing, his poise with ball in hand through traffic and the way he creates time in traffic shaping to handball, the fend offs, bulshit contested marks, nonchalant set shots, shrugging off tackles...

It’s a been a privilege to watch him for 200 games.
