Can't join you on that particular tram

We saw it with WiPhi this week. Played well in the VFL rather than just doing the same old thing over and over again and building bad habits at AFL level.

Wouldn't be against Phillips being recalled on form, though maybe one more week performing like that wouldn't hurt.

Dunno what WilPhil did wrong to get dropped tbh!!

Would we have just been better off keeping Colby at half-back, where he was very good last year and not spending huge draft capital on Daniel?
Colby up ground not working (yet) and Daniel is like an inferior version of 2024 Colby.
That would have required restraint and patience. We went for the cheap sugar hit, paid massively for it but instead of a Wizzfizz showbag we got a bunch of carob frogs.

Weren't supporters in here late last year calling for Kerch to be moved up the ground so he could be the one delivering it inside 50 with his damaging left boot?

They'd be whining about "he's wasted across hb" if he were there this year...or "he can't defend, move him"..."cheap disposals, get him up the ground"....

The Energy Vampires will all disappear when he adapts to his role. Or we win a game. They did after rd 2.

People were slagging Colby off for his turnovers and not being able to defend last year.
Hardemann would be the more likely one, should we have backed him in?
I'd still rather have Caleb teaching FOS or Hardemann back there than some others we've got down there though.
The issue is more the price paid.

The thing is, he is proving unable to work defensively on the wing and equally unable to get his hands on the pill enough to do any damage at the moment.

He also needs to get his head around not being an inside midfielder for now and just get this right.

To be fair, it’s only been four games and he is a kid. So he has a lot of improvement left.

Just needs to leave his ego at the door when it comes to where he is playing and defensive intent.

Be nice to see him use his speed for a run down tackle. Been a number of oppurtunities in the first 4 rounds where it could have happened but he chose not to chase.

I think his speed in defence vs speed in offence would paint a very bleak picture.
Offensively he is also no where near damaging enough often enough to some what negate or offset his lack of defensive running.

Whats going on with Kerch?

He was probably my favourite of the 2023 draftees but he's looked like a shell of his 2024 form this year so far.
