Dashing young Roo has surgery on broken finger

dashing. attractive in a confident, exciting, and stylish way
Kangas are getting excellent value on our Health Care Package so far this year and it’s not even the end of February.

1. Archer - ACL
2. Threadgold - Lisfranc
3. Kerch - Finger

I get that our busiest period would be September/October, but how about a little more luck and let’s put a stop on any more injuries for the next few months at least.

On a side note, I want to thank the Bookies for making PortA favourite for round 1 in the H2H betting. $1.78 to $2.08. We shit the blanket generally when going in as favourites.

I hope all the predicted lineups are wrong but this obsession by many, this Board included, with playing this bloke off HB does my head in.

He's proven he's not a defender. He's a see ball, get ball player.

Ask the other 17 Coaches whether they want him exploding from HB and kicking to to the wing or do they want him exploding through the middle kicking it inside 50.

Guarantee I know the answer to that.

Some say he's not physically mature enough to play as a f/t mid.

He is and he was last year.

Makes me smile when Carlton whack Jagga Smith in the guts in a practice match, picks up 37 touches and every media pundit has him unbackable favourite for the rising star.

Smith would be lucky to be 70kgs wringing wet.

Colby looks like Mick Conlan compared to him.

We need to back these young players in.

If he gets it on hb and explodes, I'd hope he'd get the ball further than the wing. Unless he morphs into the helmet crab....that'd be more if a slow waddle.

Agree, I reckon with his electric pace he's more important to us as a midfielder/winger. People won't like this but I prefer FOS spending more time down back this year. Next year FOS is permanently in the middle.

The more players we pump into the backline like FOS, Parker, Harvey, Blamires etc,…….then the greater the chances of the helmeted traffic cone not being picked there moving forward.

Agree with you Masked, but..................
we know Archer & Goater won't be there, Hardeman unlikely 🤞, Daniels / Harvey not up to it, Blamires maybe to debut.

Clarko's hands might be tied.

Happy Hojy for you and I to go down there and untie them for him.

I heard a whisper you know your way around Arden Street and its precincts.

Agree with you about Jagga too, hadn't really seen him and of course he's been the toast of Royal pde.all pre-season and in the news.
He's built like Gary Wilson !

The reasonable counter argument is that we are statistically one of the worst clubs at transitioning the football from D50 to attack.

As long as he’s given a license to be as offensively minded as possible I don’t think it’s a bad thing form him or the club for him to be playing as an attacking halfback.

Spot on. Without doubt defence is our weakest part of the field. A simplistic way to address that is simply put higher quality players back there. Like McKercher, FOS, Parker, Zurhaar. An offensive half back like Colby can create massive headaches for oppo when played there like Nas does for Saints. He's got a lot of grass to work with. He can still do some midfield time but we have plenty of others that play well there.

Teams can carry one bloke that can’t defend 1c1 if they possess game breaking skills.

Our problem, is if McKercher is down there, is that Daniel and Comben are there as well.

You can’t have half your defensive group being unable to defend.

We need him down there (or someone of that ilk). Having Colby streaming off hb puts the opposition on the back foot.

The problem is having Daniel down there as well. He's the anti-McKercher. Can't defend and I'm sure the opposition are quite happy for him to have it.

Opposition Coaches strategy against the Kangas

When we don’t have the ball

1. Let Daniel get the ball at all costs into his hands.
2. Position yourselves 22 meters downfield and await for a kick (26 meters with a tail wind).
3. Mark ball as it will look like he is passing to you.

When we do have the ball

1. Run thru the middle and only look back if Konstanty is on your hammer.
2. Direct ball towards Daniel at all costs (aka as Clarko’s Paddock).
3. Play Scissors/Paper/Rock with team mate to see who will win the 1/1 and then kick the goal.

We lack the Colby in the middle to make the Colby coming off HB work effectively. That is why Blameries could be a big addition, and if Goater progresses then we would be getting this team finally moving into the modern game.

Which role do people expect Colby to play? Half-back, inside mid, wing. Combo of a couple of them perhaps?
Think it’s likely to be half-back, his run and carry/overlap run is certainly still where he can have the most impact for us.
