Who would be 10 crucial players to start with if you had to build a list capable of winning premierships for a long time.

1: Hurley (Gun utility with good attitude)
2: B.Reid (amazing young CHB, great mark and reading of the play)
3: N.Fyfe (Going to win a brownlow one day probably, hird-esche)
4: D.Martin (Hard star midfielder who kicks goals)
5: T.Cloke (Best contestant mark in the game, still got 10 years left in him)
6: N.Natanui (Superstar ruckmen who is great around the ground too)
7: L.Franklin (will be one of the best forwards of all time when his career ends)
8: S.Pendlebury (The way he plays his not gonna slow down with age, still got tonnes of amazing football left)
9: D.Swallow (Future leader, amazing footballer with great attitude)
10: M.Murphy (winning the coaches award shows how highly rated he is, great talent)

Who would you guys select if you had to start a supreme list?

I thought you were supposed to be starting a list not listing the best players in the comp - Most of your guys will only play 5-6 seasons each. All my guys have 10 seasons in them

Franklin is 24 and had 6 to 10 years left in him, Martin has 10+ years, Pendlebury has 8 to 10 years left, Reid has 10 years left.

All my selections bar Ablett would be 19 to 24. I wouldn't pick Jack Watts & A. Swallow ahead of Buddy Franklin & Scott Pendlebury, just because Watts might have 3 more years in, or Swallow is more an "inside player". There is a massive, massive, massive, massive quality difference between them.

Extremely hard to pick.

1. Michael Hurley- Gun utility.
2. Harry Taylor- Great backman still relatively young.

3. Joel Selwood- Young, fearless and future leader.
4. Scott Pendlebury- Extremely skilled player.
5. David Swallow- Could be anything, has great skills and immense talent.

6. Travis Cloke- Contested mark machine and has improved his goal kicking a lot.
7. Lance Franklin- Excitement machine and super player.
8. Nat Fyfe- This kid is a gem.

9. Nic Naitanui- Could potentially change the definition of a versatile ruckman.

10- Scott Selwood- Every team needs a tackling machine and tagger.

Mids: Pendles, M.Murphy, A.Swallow, Joel Selwood
Forwards: Buddy, Hurley (tossed up between Hurls and cloke, but ultimately his versatility got me across the line) Fyfe
Backs: Frawley, heath shaw
rucks: Battle between luenburger, goldstein and nic nat. Probably Goldstein as a pure ruck. Gee this is a good era for young ruckman!

There is so much class and versatility there, that its not funny!
Probably lacking a bit of run and carry from the backline, though

B: ------------- (Coll) B. Reid -------------
HB: (Coll) H. Shaw ------------- (NM) S. McMahon
C: ------------- (Coll) S. Pendlebury -------------
HF: (Coll) D. Swan ------------- (Frem) N. Fyfe
F: ------------- (WCE) J. Kennedy -------------
R: (NM) T. Goldstein (NM) A. Swallow (WCE) M. Priddis

I went for a slightly different structure. Full set of On-Ballers, one centreman, and two small players and one key for the forward/back lines.

It's hard to go past Todd Goldstein for ruck hitouts, he wins almost every single one. Dane Swan on the Half Forward Flank; No I'm not taking the piss. The AA Selectors were on to something, the only reason Collingwood don't play him on the HFF is that he's still one of their best midfielders. Pendlebury would probably also play this role pretty well.
Scott McMahon, well I'm definitely biased but I'd take him over most of the more decorated Half Back types, just because he's so reliable and plays his role well almost all the time.
I had to go with Josh Kennedy as the key forward. He's just such a good player and he's completely capable of taking big marks and kicking big goals.
For the on-ballers, Priddis and Swallow, I went with an in and under type in Swallow, and a player that can run and make clearances in Priddis.
Players not yet mentioned were Fyfe, Shaw and Reid, just because it's pretty obvious why I'd want these guys in my team.
