Well yesterday was the 10th yr anniversary of playing in the AFL. I think we should congratulate the AFC on a mighty Job. Not just on the field but aswell as off the field.
They have ;
- Attracted crowds
- Large memberships numbers
- Amazing profits back to SANFL clubs
- Helped footy grow even more in SA
And overall created a well established and successful club in these 10 years.

Considering starting a club from scratch (with not much time on their hands), the crows have won 2 premierships, made a prelim final in 93, and lost in 2 night finals.

Overall a great 10 years, and if the next 10 years are like this, we are headed for more exciting times

QT!

Shouldn't you be thanking the Port Adelaide Football Club?

If it wasn't for Port Adelaide vision we would all be still playing in the SANFL and still be in a recession.

AH shut up scott!

Just admit it, the crows have done a wonderful job over the last 10 years

Yes well done to the crows 10th anniversary. I was there 10 years ago with my crows gear on as they thumped the hawks into the ground. Now im a proud Power supporter! Congrats to the crows acheivements in those 10 years, which bought much joy to many south australian football supporters

Well, last Saturday I went and (finally) brought the First Blood: Crows V Hawthorn, Round 1, 1991 Video. I have never seen the game in full since I was there that night 10 years ago.

Watching it again was just unreal!! The way those blokes played that night was sensational, truely something special. Jarman, McGuiness, McDermott, Negri, Smart, Linder, Mcintyre, Maynard ( 3 goals onya Rocket! Don Scott couldnt believe it!!)Thompson, Warhurst, Smith (he took some great marks), Hocking, Linder, Lindsay, the skill of Marshall, the exciting speed of Tregenza and John Klug...fantastic team effort! Had the Hawks under the pump from start to finish. Magic stuff, I'll never forget it!

I've been enjoying the coverage the Crows have been getting in the paper the past few days too. I really enjoyed Cornsey's article on Thursday and Ashley Porters new book should be interesting as well.

cheers

Jerome

Well done on your ten years Crows, I think. Correct me if I'm wrong but didn't the club celebrate its ten years in the AFL last year. If thats the case isn't this year the 11th year?.

Yeah good one QT, we all know that your money hungry club just like the money hungry league they play in like to celebrate things one you before they are suppose to.

Hey Carb,

Yeah it was a bit of a silly campaign. Team of the Decade, the merchandise, etc... The only thing that was worth buying was "The Very Best of the First Decade" video. That is a fantastic video and if you're a Crows fan and dont have it, do your self a favour and buy it.

As for us being in a money hungry league, well you're right in there with us!

cheers

Jerome

Talking about money hungry clubs - which Club was selling Ansett Cup Premiership caps for $25 each.... with the OLD "Port Power" logo on the front???? They even admitted it was old stock they were trying to get rid of!!!!

Nice try Crow54, your'e not going to get me on this one. Those caps might of been old stock but do you remember at the end of last season when the club had a sale and sold all it old merchandise at reduced prices to its supporters. I remember buying a guernsey, cap, t-shirt and training t-shirt all for $130. If I walked into a shop today and bought that same guernsey it alone would cost $120.

Also a standard Crows season pass cost about $173, I can get the same season pass to watch Port for $121. So which club seems more money hungry to you?.

The "money hungry" concept is interesting. I'm sure if the Power had sold out its season tickets for the past 4 seasons it wouldn't be offering them for $121!!!

And I'm pretty sure the Crows sold a lot of its adidas stock out cheap at the changeover to Fila.

If it were a level playing field, i.e. the Power had the same amount of supporters as the Crows, both teams would be about level in the "money hungry" stakes.

My point about the Ansett Cup caps was to prove that the Power is just as guilty of "ripping off" its supporters, as you Power supporters are always claiming the Crows do.

Crow54, I have to agree with you as far the prices for the season tickets go. The thing that disappoints me the most is when I bought my 1st Crows season ticket in 91 it cost me $66 now it cost $173. Thats a big increase over 10 years and am I getting anymore value for my money.

As far as the Crows selling their old Adidas stock at cheaper prices because they were changing to Fila is understanable but Port supplier last year as well as this is Nike so their was no reason for Port to do it apart from the fact the logo said Port Power instead of Power.

Finally as far as the caps go they were good quality caps the fact they were old stock doesn't mean a thing, they still were new not stock that had been used. Anyway I refused to buy any of the Ansett Cup merchandise, I think the cap was reasonably priced but $30 for that t-shirt was a bit rich and anyway I have plenty of Magpie premiership t-shirts that I never wear.

But there's no such club as Port Power.... Those poor supporters are wearing Ansett Cup caps under false pretences
