I don't think anyone expects him to be at that level; rather the contemporaries he was drafted with: Beams, Sloane,Hannebery etc. He is as talented as them if not even more-so, his workrate however is diabolical. It's been acknowledged by basically every coach he has had since the Under 11's, that he only runs one way, and after 7 years in the league he has done nothing to rectify that. It would take something drastic, like being dropped for half a dozen or being thrown around as trade bait for him to change I feel.

Also I wouldn't put him in the same category as those bolded.
Winning a club B&F hasn't helped his ego from all reports

Needs to have a long look at himself in the mirror although im sure he already does that :p seriously needs to pull his finger out and have a crack. Wouldn't mind shopping him around to a top club to see who wants a front runner.

We won't though. Clubs don't really trade fan favourite players. This is the AFL, not the NHL/NBA.

Think people are a little harsh.

Had his best season last year and has been struck down by injury this year. Plus when he has come in after missing a large chunk of the year he hasn't had Watson, Hocking and Myers in the team which limits his ability to get out and spread and become dangerous when we've been so poor on the inside.

He's going to be very important next year through the midfield and think he would be dangerous spending more time forward too with Chappy and Winders moving on. Still think he's an important player to the side and wouldn't even consider shopping him around.

It wasn't long ago that some were claiming he'd be our next elite midfielder.

Ludicrous considering his lack of inside game and clean hands.

He'll be a very important part of our midfield the next 5 years and play 200+ games. He's a Stanton with more agility

We call know what hes capable of but so frustrating that he picks and chooses when to have a crack

Zaka's done more in the crucial moments than everyone on our list bar Jobe and Hep in the past 5 years. Silly comment.
Unfortunately football doesn't consist entirely of crucial moments.

Not doubting his goal kicking ability and let's be honest, other than kick goals against Collingwood in 2009 and Melbourne last year when else has he stood up under pressure????

Refuses to chase or put his nose over the football, accepting efforts like this from players of his "supposed" quality is exactly why we are in the position we are currently in
