They don’t have other rucks but they could always trade for another one who exists at a different price point.

pitonet is more of a stop gap ruck for a team with a developmental guy 2-3 years away. If your Carlton targeting a younger backup ruck (or starting ruck) who’s ready to be the guy next year and is cheap seems a good way to balance your side a bit better

He seemed a bit checked out against Freo. Not sure what's going on, if there's some sour grapes about his role or some other reason, but I think he should be playing in the VFL. I'd rather have one of the younger guys in the seniors putting in 110%.

He’s selfish and likely being asked to be less selfish, at least that’s my guess.

I think Gresham’s assessment of his own capabilities are the reality of his capabilities aren’t at all the same thing.

I actually thought Gresham was good tonight. Front and centre when he should have been. Made good on his opportunities. Tackled and was in and under. He would be a bloody good player in a bloody good side. But he's not in a good team but tonight showed he 'can' when he wants too. And that's the question about him.

I thought he was way more bad than good tonight, turnover merchant, selective when to go hard.

And the fact he can't kick more than 35m is the icing on the cake.

This is fair. He did get to contests and he does put the pressure on. This is probably why he keeps getting selected.
His decision making is really not good though. He often over estimates his ability, biting off more than he can chew and finding himself in trouble.
I got annoyed last night when he chose to go for goal from 40m out. He knows he's only got a 30m leg but he wanted his hero moment again. Luckily Duursma has the courage to throw himself in for a contested mark.

He's not a serious requirement for a rebuild. I'd rather chance HEA, see what we look like and go from there.

Strange situation, looks to be moving as well as ever, hasn’t lost a step and still has his kicking penetration even though he has never been an overly long kick, and can still find the footy.

Apart from that, he is a disgrace. Selfish, one way footballer that thinks he’s Gary Ablett junior.
