What is with all these 2nd year players getting nominations? I feel like it defeats the purpose of the award, because they've had an extra 12 months in the system. And that makes a huge difference.

Who gives a shite about rising star nominations. It’s like All Australians when we got hardly any but won all the flags! AFL hates us so gives us donuts on that stuff. It’s all about flags though and Trainor looks like a gun premiership potential leader, so I’m wrapped!!

I think they add the 1 at a rookie scale like the top 20 picks. So that's all 7 of the top 30 guys signed after that they can re-sign for whatever they can get.
