What if he has season ending injury at training?Richo made a decent point on the club pod - they know Trainor will get a nom at some point so they gave it someone less certain to have a standout game in another round. He’ll get his flowers.
Not that it matters anyway
FWIW, those numbers only tell part of the story. This weeks NAB Rising Star nom is a genuine robbery….
Trainor
21 D, 15 K, 6 H, 90% DE, 8 M, 2 T, 3 I50’s, 4 R50’s, 3 clangers
Garcia
19 D, 10 K, 9 H, 42% DE, 0 M, 10 T, 2 I50’s, 2 R50’s, 1 Goal, 9 clangers

If one of our players went at 42% we'd be screaming for him to be dropped (or subbed 10 minutes into the 2nd quarter)FWIW, those numbers only tell part of the story.
According to his interview on Fox last night, Garcia had the job on Caleb Serong on Friday, and he kept him to just 15 disposals and 2 score involvements, which is the least number of disposals he’s had in his last 98 games.
The last time he had that few was in the shortened games in 2020, when he was just 19yo.
While as noted Garcia had 19, 10 tackles, 5 clearances and a goal himself.
I dare say if one of your players did a similar job on one of the very best mids in the comp you’d be screaming from the rooftops that he deserved the nod.

You’d want to drop someone who kept a guy who was equal-4th in the coaches votes leading into the round to their quietest game in 5 years? If one of our players went at 42% we'd be screaming for him to be dropped (or subbed 10 minutes into the 2nd quarter)

Not saying its right, just saying what would happen on here if someone torched the footy. You’d want to drop someone who kept a guy who was equal-4th in the coaches votes leading into the round to their quietest game in 5 years?
And who, as of a couple of weeks ago, was no.1 in the AFL for effective clearances leading to a score?

That context helps.FWIW, those numbers only tell part of the story.

I was scared about his concussion history more so than his playing ability.
They gave it to Garcia purely for the clicks after he was subbed off early the week before and blasted by Ross. I've noticed that too. It's working.Going by the last couple of games, it looks like he's been told not to bite off more than he can chew with his kicking.
Never actually heard of any of them.
