How many times does it happen at our games though? Does anyone know, are these local umps or do the AFL supply them? If they're locals, why do they hate us so much?
With boundary and goal umps I doubt that it's hate but embarassment. You watch carefully, it just goes over and you hesitate, then will be embarrassed to call it "late". Stupid of course, better late than never.
Same with Lizard running heaven knows how far in his goal. Should have been called but wasn't. Same issue. Don't want to be the party pooper in that case.
Luckily neither impacted the result.

Interesting that the bookies had us a stronger favourite vs Freo than we are this week against St Kilda.

Marvel Stadium is not our friend.

Saints at Marvel produces a fair few oddities in terms of results.

Saints are also massively bipolar can beat Geelong at Marvel but lose to bottom 4 sides

But that's a field umpire's decision and they've got lots of decisions to stuff up - the boundary ump really only has one decision to make, did the ball go OOB? It may be some form of unconscious bias, but this seems to happen at the SCG way more than at other grounds.

Last year was a debacle. Lost to them in a terrible match the year before at the SCG as well.

The last 7 matches is 4-3 St Kilda's way back to 2020, in a period where they have been pretty irrelevant which doesn't make great reading.

Higgins seems to love playing against us

Among others too, we also have an amazing ability to make Wikkie (who i good yes) like he's the next Hall of Famer. It's like the Port fiasco with AA, we stop bombing it senseless we are some chance, we don't we will lose

Shout out to everyone another 32k+ crowd at the SCG.

Sunday afternoon suits this market, I've said it before, nothing better than Sunday afternoon at the SCG. I'd love nothing more than less night games next season

Our defence has been the difference in the past four weeks. Average 69 points conceded compared to 89 points for the first 12 games. Collingwood, the no.1 defence statistically, is on 67 points per game. Cox has been going on about our defence all year. I guess that's the kind of goal you set yourself when you watch the opposition double your score in a GF.

Good to see the team stand up when it came under pressure in the last quarter. The repeat D50 defensive efforts in Q4 were awesome. No problem with the set shots.

Doesn't look good for Papley. I hope Amartey can get back. He's a real presence.

Shows what a goose that Sean Teuma is
Shai Bolton must have pics of his coach

Ahhh, the Freo into Saints combo that caused our season to de-rail last year. Got 1 win back. Can we get another?
