Like the Carp from Woodend
Hello tigers boys
And you just know KB always ensures they get on when they ring.

I understand that, but their act is so same same that it’s wearisome.

Though at least Christopher (The Melbourne guy) that rings in with the strained somewhat lighter voice will call in with something new about melbournes predicament.

He’ll start with a question (almost Maher in length) then provide the answer as well.
But always with great pain in his voice, with unrelenting angst.

He is like something the Coodabeens would cook up :p But, yeah, at least he talks about the footy.

Yep.
Is very Coodabeens.

Hello Tony?

Who’s that?

It’s Digger, Tony, it’s Digger.

Digger, it’s good to hear from you, how can we help you?

It’s the umpires Tony, they’re crucifying us Tony. I tell ya, they’re crucifying us...

He's got good bloody reason for the angst, he might have been in his 20s-30s last time we won a flag. He's always gone on and on a bit but he's the most passionate melbourne caller by far and has been since the dark days of bailey/neeld.

I hate his voice so much so

Yes he is.

“If I can ask Gerard?”

“Go ahead Christopher.”

“You know Gerard, I’m really worried about where Melbourne is going this season, you know the way we direct the ball to our forwards. It doesn’t seem like it’s a system that works Gerard.
I noticed that in The Preliminary final last season, in the first quarter. And then they did the same thing in the second quarter. And would you believe Gerard they did it again in the third quarter. And I was shocked there was a slight improvement in the last quarter. But by then, the game was lost. With ten minutes into the last quarter the game was lost.
I think they should be more direct Gerard.
That’s what I would tell Simon Goodwin to do.
What do you think Gerard....”

I should add, Christopher I can see bringing a cheese board and cheese platter to the football.
And a thermos of coffee.

And he’d be a skier as well.

SEN is almost unlistenable now. They've obviously sold prime time slots to fringe sports. I didn't mind having to listen to league crap when it was a 10pm thing, but they are just milking those sports (soccer/ tennis/ league) by giving them the 7pm slots. And don't get me started about fake talk back callers.... There is a company that specialises in it - does anybody really think space heads are ringing mmm to compliment them on their ace playlist?

Yes the 7pm has been taken over by s**t that Victorians don't like.

Guys an absolute classic , used to be great when he would ring up to talk to OX and rattle off 12 reserves players who should be getting games.

Also loves throwing in he knows people high up at the club and he is going to contact them with his ‘concerns’

Classic.

And when you think of him, you can hear his voice in your head.

Yes the 7pm has been taken over by s**t that Victorians don't like.

Monday: USA sports (sports played in USA and other countries)
Tuesday: Melb Storm
Wednesday: AFL
Thursday: sporting capital
Friday: afl nation

at least 2.5, more likely 3 days of footy out of 5. Victorians dont like footy?

Thing is Victoria has a strong presence in all sporting codes. Looking around any weekend sports it's a great example of Australian multiculturalism.

Thought it was strange that you had Victoria and AFL at odds.

Problem with footy talk it's dependant on talkback callers. The news cycle is short and repetitive.
I like the way Maher is pushing Aussie Rules , not AFL.
Was away over the break with a few families and all the dads listen to SEN , but are dropping off very quick.
