No biggie. People always make grand sweeping statements when someone dies.

Everyone’s suddenly the best person, trainer, club man.

People regret not making time for that person publicly insinuate it won’t happen again. Then it does.

I think with spud he had that spirit that transcended across communities. Genuine.

Pickers = Kerry Packer , Hutchy = Alan Bond , when Packer sold Channel 9 to Bond for mega bucks and a few years later bought it back for cheap

Packer saying you only get one Alan Bond in a lifetime
dont forget lloyd williams casino...over 1.2 billion to construct and bring to life...sold to KP for the princely sum of $400 million in 1999

Is anybody really surprised ?

A sports ticketing business run by football powerbroker Craig Hutchison is being investigated for gouging on AFL finals tickets.
The State Government on Wednesday night revealed the league had ordered ticket packages being sold by BallPark Entertainment, chaired by Hutchison and owned by his company Crocmedia, be withdrawn from sale.
“While the company in question is an authorised AFL on-seller, one of the packages advertised has been directed to be removed by th e AFL while the league and the department make inquiries to ensure all legal requirements have been met,” a government spokesman said.
“We expect all parties to respect the spirit as well as the letter of the anti-scalping legislation.”
BallPark was selling Level 2 seats to tomorrow night’s Geelong-West Coast semi-final at the MCG for $170. The top-priced public ticket on Level 2 is $93.
The $170 tickets offered by BallPark promised fans “access to premium beverage and food outlets”.
Tickets to next week’s preliminary finals were also withdrawn from sale by BallPark on Wednesday night, as were tickets to Saturday night’s Brisbane-Giants clash at the Gabba.
Under Victoria’s scalping laws it is illegal to sell tickets to any footy finals match at more than 10 per cent above face value.
Penalties range from $806 to $483,500 depending on the nature of offences.
A BallPark sales representative contacted about the $170 Cats-Eagles tickets, said the seats would be on the “centre-wing on Level 2 or 2A”, but he was not sure exactly where, saying they were “collecting them this afternoon”.
BallPark’s advertisement for the tickets, posted on the Tixstar website, stated: “Enjoy the game from one of the best seats in the ground with premium Category One reserved seating giving you access to premium beverage and food outlets.”
The BallPark sales representative clarified on the phone that no free food or drink was included in the package, but that it provided access to the Medallion Club bar.
His pitch included that it was “not a normal cash bar” and people were able to take their bought drinks back to their seats “in a plastic cup”.
However, this is allowed across the stadium.
The Victorian Government is currently advertising with SEN, warning listeners about the anti-scalping legislation and urging them to report concerns.
The AFL confirmed the tickets in question had been removed from sale.
BallPark is also offering Medallion Club corporate suite packages to the Tigers and Magpies preliminary finals at up to $795 a person.
The Herald Sun has contacted Hutchison for comment.

Blokes a parasite, just keeps continuing to prove it

I do enjoy the irony of the constant complaining about Heverin's mention of his baby, being bald etc.

I got the article about Hutcho:

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Mick Warner, Herald Sun.
Sep 13th, 2019

Footy powerbroker Craig Hutchison’s company has been caught selling tickets for the invitation-only Flemington Birdcage at up to $2200, with the help of the AFL. Victoria Racing Club has directed Hutchison’s media firm Crocmedia to stop spruiking access to its Birdcage marquee at the Melbourne Cup carnival.

The AFL has also been caught up in the ruse, with its Medallion Club members targeted with the offer.

It comes just days after Hutchison’s BallPark Entertainment firm was forced to withdraw AFL finals tickets from sale amid concerns over price-gouging.

The VRC intervened in Hutchison’s Spring Carnival hustle after the Herald Sun showed the authority an email sent to Medallion Club members, offering the chance to buy exclusive Crocmedia marquee tickets.

It is against VRC rules and conditions to sell tickets for the invite-only Birdcage to the public.

Crocmedia was offering access for Melbourne Cup Day for $2200 per person, Derby and Oaks days at $2000 each and Stakes Day at $1100.

“During the Melbourne Cup Carnival, the Birdcage is known as the most exclusive ticket in town!” the email says.

“We are excited to share with you the following hospitality opportunities … Through the AFL’s broadcast relationship with Crocmedia, we are pleased to offer our valued Medallion Club members exclusive access into the Crocmedia marquee at Flemington over the Melbourne Cup Carnival.
“Please note there is limited availability.”

The AFL failed to respond to questions from the Herald Sun about its involvement in the scheme.

The VRC said Crocmedia had agreed to stop selling the marquee tickets after the issue was flagged with Hutchison’s company.

“Crocmedia is an Event Partner of the Victoria Racing Club,” a statement said.

“The VRC has clarified with Crocmedia the club’s position relating to ticketing rules for the Birdcage, and Crocmedia and the VRC are aligned moving forward.”

It is not known how many marquee tickets have already been sold or whether they will be valid.

On Wednesday, the Herald Sun revealed that sports ticketing business BallPark Entertainment, chaired by Hutchison and owned by Crocmedia, was being investigated for gouging on AFL finals tickets.

BallPark was selling Level 2 seats to tonight’s Geelong-West Coast match for $170. The top-priced public ticket on Level 2 is $93.

Tickets to other finals at inflated prices offering fans “access to premium beverage and food outlets” were also being sold by BallPark.

Hutchison blamed a third party for the issue after the State Government notified the AFL, which ordered the removal of the packages from sale.

When 3AW’s Neil Mitchell today asked AFL chief executive Gillon McLachlan whether BallPark Entertainment had “ripped people off with finals tickets”, the league boss said: “Yeah, no clearly. It’s poor practice. They made a mistake.”

But McLachlan said the AFL would be not be taking punitive action against Hutchison or the company.

“The tickets have been retired and in terms of actually under the (anti-scalping) act it’s a decision for the government,” he said.

i think the state government and/or victorian police need to intervene and charge who is responsible under the new scalping laws.
the afl can lend support to police on the facts of actual cost,so they can be witness
if the afl are in anyway afilliated with those companies, charge the afl and have them convicted of fraudulent activity as well
anyway you look at it its a criminal offence & possible jail time
Hutchison is operating out of the same handbook as the recent US basketball tour fiasco with all its deception
i have mentioned this before in previous posts, this low life hutchison is now tied in with the Americans ok,
once those grubs get access to your sport all is doomed, with theyre fixing and corruption and manipulated outcomes and such
for ratings for example...Hutchison eats from the same honey pot

In todays paper it says it doesn't come under scalping laws. Who knows who set it up at Ballpark , doesn't mean it was Hutch , it's a big organisation these days. That's not defending him , as it's a ripoff .

The paper could be protecting the Afl here..also its all in the wording regarding the laws and these companies are not stupid, using phrases such as 'access
to premium beverage outlets' isnt lying...its just spin to ramp up prices...

Easier to ask for forgiveness than permission, he's only sorry because he got caught. What a scumbag

I wanted to rant about this somewhere, and can't find a relevant thread, so: :D

That FAA'RKIN silly SJW cow, Kate O'Halloran who criticised Garry Lyon on Twitter after she misheard heard him is a typical fkkn idiot LOOKING for a fight where there isn't one.

She thought he referred to Eleni Glouftsis as "the lady" during commentary. He did mumble/fumble the pronunciation of "Eleni", but he said her full name; why the fokk would he say " what the lady Glouftis needs to ask herself...."?

She copped so much crap on Twitter that she's deleted her Twitter account.
FMD, the world i fekked !!!! :p I might move to the bush and get off the grid. Ha.

The system works!

You actually have to do quite a bit to go to Jail. I would not have thought providing an easy way of purchasing tickets, albeit at inflated prices constitutes a sentence of incarceration.

I often use Viagogo overseas as it's a good service and I never get ripped off, as that potentially can happen back home when trying to buy tickets for big football games off the Barra Bravas in dark alleys outside the stadium.

Peace of mind and ease of receipt of tickets has a certain value attached which I feel some of you are overlooking.

Why anyone would use their service to buy publically assesible tickets beggars belief, but there you go.
