Well Lij will be replaced, hopefully by Hayward. Ainsworth probably replaces White if anyone, but takes Motlop's midfield minutes. Williams can play midfield with stints at half-back.

Most weeks when we go to the footy, we sit front row because my 10yo son hopes to get a footy from one of our players after the game…and luckily he’s got a couple over the years.
In round 22, after the loss to GC when the GC players were walking around the boundary handing out balls…cheekily he took of his Carlton guernsey so he could get a ball.
Luckily, he managed to get a signed ball - which happens to be his only non Carlton signee ball - from non other then Ben Ainsworth.
Safe to say he’s absolutely wrapt with our new signing.

I remember wanting us to draft Ainsworth in the 2017 draft.
We had pick 5 and Ainsworth went one pick earlier to GCS at pick 4
At the time I was still happy we landed SPS, the kid had so much natural talent, but I really wanted Ainsworth I just felt our list really needed a classy small forward, even back in 2017 our list desperately needed a small forward, it’s only taken 8 years, but at least we’re finally adding some class in the forward half

SPS was great for us..then moved and showed even less interest......
BA.....has seen many bad yrs as a forward with the suns untill their recent form and glut of younger forwards...
BA not favoured over local recruitment...understandable
Were lucky to get him probably at a good price

Sps was not great for us, he was probably our worst early 1st rd pick ever. Him,dow, o brien, if only we nailed just one of those picks...

I wanted Ainsworth in his draft year. Has been an excellent player for the Suns, very much required until this year’s squeeze. They did not want to risk losing some highly rated kids (Rogers and Lombard), so they made room. He has been an integral part of their team, one of the first picked.
I still think there is more upside under a different structure and game plan. I am really hoping a revamped forward mix, working to maximise each other’s strengths gives him a higher profile role.

Welcome Ben! I've never paid close attention to him. However, after watching his highlights reel I am very, very excited to see him pull on the Navy Blue.

From the media he has done, it sounds very much like Ben has been “sold” the role Elijah had.
I said it last week, but Ben Ainsworth is going to go to another level for us. More freedom, responsibility and bigger crowds will see him thrive. At best, he could be our version of Dylan Moore.
Also has a bit of mongrel and will love playing with Crippa, Harry and under Vossy (if only for one season).
Some won't agree, but I'm looking forward to seeing it in 2026.

BA is about workrate...he could almost be a winger....
