For his first year as a midfielder, he's been up and down as expected, but has had some huge games too. Massive work rate and willingness to get to contests - even in games where it hasn't quite clicked for him, he's still worked his backside off.

Another 40-50 games as a full time mid and he's going to be throwing up 30 possession, 10 clearance games on a regular basis.

Just as a story like this may indicate an impending selection for a first gamer; this could foreshadow a move to the leadership group for Jy perhaps?

At whose expense, would you wager?

He needs more onfield performance and authority imo. Probably needs 2 seasons of consistently dominating his position and driving wins for us.

Physically, this kid has matured so much in the past 12 months. Has put a mountain of work in in the gym and on the track.

Has been working a lot with Heath Scotland and Jared Moore to improve his midfield craft. Particularly his positioning around the stoppages. Also been working with Boomer on his impact forward of centre.

Expect him to take his game to another level this year.

It don’t maketh the footballer, but he’s certainly got a helluva rig going on. Looks as fit as all get out.

The forward stuff is important. We need these rotating mids to start getting amongst the goals.
