I wonder if has been a bit spent when he goes to kick. Has had very little pre-season.
And didn't play the season before...

Need to remember he has had no pre season and has never played even a VFL game - massive step up in intensity from a U18 game to Rd 1. Wouldn't be adverse to him getting a few more games this year.

Was in struggletown today, but we must persevere. Would have been tough for some of these kids today with little to no leadership around them today.

The supposed leaders of our club set a disgusting example of how the game should be played.
I dont want any of them to learn anything off Swallow, Hansen, Gibson, Thompson- nothing.
Really want this next group of kids to do their own gig.

I think Jy struggled with the step up in speed and intensity, basically robbed him of the time he has normally had and been used to. Not surprising given he pretty much went from U17's to AFL.
I think the experience will be a good one for him cos once he gets accustomed to the speed, the tricks and time will come out in his game again

Doesn't just release the ball to the first option
You mean he turned down others before deciding on Swallow and Gibson?

I'm sure he was just keen to honour senior players and coming from under 17's, is used to team mates who can kick.

He's not the first debutant to run around in a daze unable to get involved in the play, and he won't be the last. He probably played the game multiple times in his head overnight while trying to get to sleep.

Glad he has that one out of the way now.

I was listening to this on the radio and it seemed to me that he did heaps and was one of our better players. If you saw the game - is that right?

Copped a bad cork early and struggled with it throughout the game, but to his credit got involved and performed a lot better than last week.

Onward and upward.

His decision making is as good as anyones. The ability (or should i say audacity) to change feet when the originally intended right foot snap became blocked and then unfotinately have a fingernail touch his kick was pretty impressive to watch.
