Do we know they didn't?
Based on what we saw happen it is the most likely inference that they didn't.

The alternative argument that you are postulating is also unknown but significantly less likely.

Which means I am right because I have now used both "eschew" and "postulating" in sentences tonight. I am a Bigfooty god.

I don't think that's the best way of putting it. He puts in 80m of 100% effort, coming from almost where the ball was. He covered the entire path of the ball in almost as little time as it took to get to Murdoch, which is ******* incredible.
He read where the ball was likely to go instead of where it was. Was a brilliant bit of defensive work.

If teams don't nominate a ruckman then the opposition ruckman should be able to take possession and not be penalised if he gets tackled instantly.
Exacatagly. It's been happening for 100 years and the game has gone downhill fast since day one. As I said to ya today SW, the sooner the AFL Commission is dissolved in a double resolution the better, and give the power back to the people where it belongs in the first place.
I'm trying to organise a beat-box rally (S&M (M&M's understudy) will be there) on August 1st at Arden St to get a partition signed by all in Sunbury - 1000 signatures is all we need to then take the matter before a Magistrate, and then, and only then, will the AFL's ears be prickled.

Jy may be out next week. Noticeably limping at half time and I was a bit surprised he came out and played the second half.

Or maybe it was just my eyes imagined it.
The commentary team mentioned that he had come off with an unknown issue a couple of times in the first half. Good effort to push through it and have an impact later in the game.

I actually thought I saw it, or something, happen early in the game. He was in the background running then kind of jerked/stumbled and then stood around. Couldn't tell if he had collided/bumped with a player or if I had imagined it or anything because of lack of replay.

Yeah, that was my point. Looks like a natural on both sides
Yeah I wasn't sure until you blokes confirmed it.

Saw him nail that one nicely off the left and suspected his "natural" foot was right but hadn't seen enough of him kick to remember with any confidence.

Speaking of which, be great to get that excellent kick off both feet Sammy Wright back very soon.

Don't get the big deal about this, surely if they don't nominate one it gives our ruckman a massive advantage and we should be able to win the clearance.

He copped a cork very early in the first and struggled with it all game. With the way he was moving when he came off i was surprised he played out the game.
Credit to him.

Runs in too fast in his set shot routine?
He did in the 3rd yesterday.

I was watching both he and Garner pretty closely in the warm ups yesterday and Simpkin definately rushed the run up for the set shot in game, becuase in warm up it was pretty smooth. Still struggled for distance though. 50 meters is probably his limit so anything from 40+ out is gonna be a stretch.

With Garner I was suprised he missed his set shots because his routine is ******* perfect. Nerves I reckon.

1st game looked exactly like a kid adjusting to speed of the highest level.

2nd game had adjusted to the speed, did some nice things.

From now on, he'll start playing at his own speed.

The agility and awareness in his that touched one were simply elite.

He's gunna be quite the player.

Simpkin, Garner and Wood in the same forward line with Big Ben Brown as the focal point is going to be very, very good for a very long time, inshallah they stay fit.

I saw that to, he almost fell over and lost balance, he looked like he was on ice skates, it was weird to see. He did come off straight after that and I thought that it was not long after that the commentators remarked he had been off several times before with an issue.
