Really needs to work on his kicking. Not making the distance again, from 35m is pretty embarrassing for an AFL player.

He can sell candy but so far I've been pretty underwhelmed.

That would require drinking less beers.

Perhaps. My point remains about his kicking though.
again, you do realize he missed all of last year with a broken leg? to get penetration in kicking, you need strong legs, glutes and core.
his kicking b4 the break was good. his length of kicking will improve, as his body gets stronger.
this kid would have gone 3,4 or 5 in the draft if not for the broken leg.

I don't think he will ever be a booming kick but that's ok. When he is playing on the wing, his steps out of trouble will mean he will carry it 5-10 meters in many occasions

Gun.

Is improving at 15-20% game on game. Is literally twice as good as he was in round 1 2 games later and I get the feeling this is his base. It's only going to get easier than playing on 4 of the best in the business in Murphy, JJ, Boyd & Wood. Still kicked 2, missed a few but has given Lindsay wind burn on the way past.

That's about how many times he's kicked a footy in the last 12 months too tbf.

How many third gamers have the confidence and ability to evade blokes in contested situations like they aren't there? He backs himself to hold onto the ball until an option presents itself and backs himself to not get tackled either. It's pure instinct and it's great to watch.
No need to justify that . Bemused by the criticism

You could delve deep into last years draft page, and I know this is is floggish but **** it, I wrote that McGrath was overrated. He's very quick and can kick a long way but there was better footballers in the draft. Simpkin is the big unknown of that draft.

Someone on this website gave him a big rap last year before the draft. Don't remember whop but they were right on. This kid has something.

That stuff on the boundary that was "out" ... unreal. Third game draft pick doing that, backing himself ... fantastic. And I loved that goal on the line in front of Garner. His hunger was excellent.
