Bump seemed deliberate, even though the high contact itself was not. Deciding to bump and making high contact can mean guilty in any circumstance, under the rules as they stand.
Will depend on whether any damage resulted, and whether its deemed incidental or negligent. I would think incidental, however he didn't get low so it might be deemed negligent.

In all seriousness...if that is worth a suspension...
Every year until this year he would get off.

Will get 1-2 for it this year imo...

The Jeremy Howe mark just rubbed in the ziebell suspension to me, knees a bloke full on in the side of the face but because he was paid a mark its okay. Ziebell got 4 for less contact.

Surely we've all learned something from the Jack Ziebell incident, it doesn't matter if the ball is within five metres, the player is going for the ball and it's a complete accident, if someone gets a knock on the noggin then the match review circus feel compelled that they must find somebody to blame for this travisty, regardless of weather we play a full contact sport or not. With carry over points I think he will get 3

If Thomas goes up for that a new level of lunacy will be reched with the MRP. The worst thing is we are so brainwashed with the system now that most of the media commentry think he is in trouble.

What the hell was that melbourne player doing? Thomas was running toward the flow of the ball movement. The melbourne player only had eyes for Thomas and then runs into him as if his eyes were painted on? If anything, it looked like Thomas tried to turn his body to avoid contact.

I know what you mean, surely the players must carry some responsibility when it comes to getting bumped. If LT has run in to him because he was running toward the ball and Nicholson was just unaware of what was around him, then surely LT can't be suspended because of someone else's complete lack of awareness. But just going on recent history I think he's gone because apparently there is no incidental contact in our full contact sport, SOMEONE MUST BE TO BLAME!!!!

Just watched the incident, doesn't look good for LT he near decaffeinated the Dee player. The way this season has gone I won't be suprised to see LT suspended and half the Dee side in suspenders.

He should be alright.
Should be, yes. But under the system as it stands may not be. After all, with recent rulings, he did have another option. He could have got lower.

edit: Actually, looking at the table used for the points system, it is difficult to see what he could be charged under. The only possibility would be "Misconduct (unreasonable and unecessary cobtact to the face)". Which would yield 125 points for low contact and negligent. But surely even for the MRP, and even on its recent form, that is a bit of a stretch - partly because I'm not sure there was contact to the face and partly because it was not "unreasonable" even if it was to be deemed "unnecessary".
