Have not seen any of the other incidents mentioned above but just saw the footage of Thomas and being offered 2 seems fair. Was a silly thing to do.

LT didn't jump off ground, didn't raise elbow and was involved in an incidental collision with a bloke who wasn't watching what he was doing.
Disgraceful.
Would love to see another angle of it.

This whole system is a joke, you can literally KO a bloke and get 5 down to four, you get four weeks because you can't run and jump at the ball without fear of hitting another player and supposedly you have some other avenue to the contest, who in the end miraculously played next week considering the medical report suggested he was clinically dead . Yet you can concuss a player who does not return to the field of play front on and get off. Then a little bump gets you two and the player returns to the field. **** me #FreeLindsayMKII

The MRP should resign immediately. They just make random decisions that no one can understand. If you go for the ball and there's an accidental contact you get 4 weeks while if you hit someone in the head and he is knocked out of the game you are clear to play. What is going on? And this LT 2 weeks? What is that all about? Can someone explain it to me?

There can be only one...
It is what happens when the coach comes out and calls the tribunal system a joke. Any of our players that are even borderline will get booked.

Why?

Thompson was a complete accident. Thomas knew he was bumping someone.

Didn't deserve two weeks but please look at it objectively.
What I want to know is the "negligent/reckless/high/incidental/blahblahblah" thing for both incidents.

Was Thompson's assessed as an accident by the MRP? If so, I am more than happy to concede that point, but that Thomas gets two weeks for his is a total shock. Doesn't deserve that.

The only way Thompson could be cleared was if it was deemed incidental, the same as we argued re: Ziebell.

Lindsay Thomas, North Melbourne, has been charged with a Level Three engaging in rough conduct offence against Daniel Nicholson, Melbourne, during the third quarter of the Round 18 match between North Melbourne and Melbourne, played at Etihad Stadium on Saturday July 28, 2012.

In summary, due to an existing poor record, he can accept a two-match sanction with an early plea.

Based on the video evidence available and a medical report from the Melbourne Football Club, the incident was assessed as negligent conduct (one point), high impact (three points) and high contact (two points). This is a total of six activation points, resulting in a classification of a Level Three offence, drawing 325 demerit points and a three-match sanction. He has an existing bad record of 60 demerit points carried over from within the last 12 months, increasing the penalty to 385 points and a three-match sanction. An early plea reduces the penalty by 25 per cent to 288.75 points and a two-match sanction.

Just had a quick search and voila.

Patrick Keane@AFL_PKeane
Scott Thompson cleared contact Steve Johnson. Thompson pushed by Joel Corey into Johnson’s path. Contact outside the control of Thompson.

In light of this, can anyone explain how the Richmond bloke last week didn't even get looked at for colliding with Patch?
Was far worse, difference was Patch was a smart enough player to brace for contact.
It appears the stupidity of the player contacted is now a factor.

The only reason I can think of is Thomas got straight up, while whoever LT hit was down for a while. Would have affected the gradings, despite Jetta being one of the incidents the AFL has tried to stamp out for years.
