I don't think anyone disagrees that he's a good defensive inside mid. It's his body that's the biggest issue.

His game last week was excellent. Directly set up at least three goals. He had 19 disposals (only 6 contested) at 47%, the worst of any midfield on the ground except for Sidebottom who had 15 clearances and 22 contested possesions.
He had only two tackles for the entire game, playing as a defensive mid role, in wet weather football. Menzie who came on as sub equaled him in tackles.
He had 6 clangers.
Indefensibly bad game and I have no idea why this board has such a boner for him.

I am not a fan but he is only there because Caldwell is not.He had 19 disposals (only 6 contested) at 47%, the worst of any midfield on the ground except for Sidebottom who had 15 clearances and 22 contested possesions.

I mentioned a few weeks ago he looks like he is running in quicksand. He just can’t run.
He is very slow on the spread.
I don’t reckon he should play in front of tsatsas but that probably says something about where Elijah is at with his footy.
I have more of a semi over him. But was terrible yesterdayHe had 19 disposals (only 6 contested) at 47%, the worst of any midfield on the ground except for Sidebottom who had 15 clearances and 22 contested possesions.

had an off day vs. collingwood, but he's decidedly a good member of the team to have. he does exactly what he needs to. a "perfect" role player
If he had been our own #5 draft pick we would be seriously rating himSetterfield is not far off being what we want tsatas to become.
For midfield balance he is ideal because we don’t need him to be fast or dynamic. We just need him to be defensive, stick tackles, accumulate and use the ball well. Even the accumulation isn’t as important given the defensive priority. I feel like you need a no frills sort of guy to make the rest shine.
if you read each page, its easy to see why.Baffled how Setterfield is constantly being slated as a delist option on here. Strong, big-bodied defensively-minded mid who consistently performs when he comes into the side and is willing to be a fringe-23 player. In no world should he be delisted.
