I cant seem to find a thread on it but geez, just watched it and it has rattled me...

Didn't find it that great. Felt like it was telling a story I've seen told a thousand times. America used to be awful to black people. We get it. I've seen it. This slave is different to all the others. I've seen it.

Wouldn't be upset at all however if Ejiofor wins the Oscar. He was fantastic.

Not attacking your perspective on this film, I just find them interesting - I had those thoughts about Wolf of Wall Street. This seemed like a story worth telling. Maybe it was the free man and trickery element that made it resonate.
