Well firstly he is contracted so not sure its his choice and to play with his mates still.
The upside to Carlton might be money? But thats it.

This was my point exactly, if Oliver would be to leave I just don't understand the hype around Carlton, seems like a very sideways move.

As per SEN Garry Lyon has apparently spoken to his well placed sources at the club, Oliver's manager and people at Carlton who all confirm this is a bogus rumor. Apparently one of his sources told Gaz that if Oliver leaves for Carlton he will run naked around the tan, such is his confidence that he will stay. Sounds categorical to me.
Plus Goodwin loves Oliver. Aint happening. This rumor can be put to bed!

At the end of the day with their jobs in the line, Goodwin and Mahoney are hardly going to trade a contracted Oliver.

I have no doubt blues would be into him. But even if he’s keen there’ll need to be a huge amount coming back. Goodwin and Mahoney have jobs on the line. They ain’t trading for speculative draft picks. You’d need to part with McKay for example.

Mate i'm sure he is spot on that Oliver is a target for Carlton no one will doubt that, but has he said that Oliver will 100% be at Carlton next year?
I mean North have targeted multiple stars over the years without landing one, it's not a given.
As has been stated above Goodwin and Mahoney have their jobs on the line, in order for you guys to get Oliver you will be paying a huge price.
