I've been working all day so the only thing I saw was that roost that went oob. But yes very impressed so far. He reminds me of David King with his hunger to make things happen with ball in hand.
Oh he’s in a different galaxy to King in terms of skills. King was just a dumb run-and-roost merchant.

Bit harsh. We rightfully had a fetish for kicking long at all costs.
A reasonably solid tactic when Carey's hitting up at you. Kingy was a decent long kick. He would rank better than a lot of blokes in our side playing today.

Polec is, of course, special. The only blokes near him from the mid to late 90's era would be Carey, Schwass, Grant and of course...........WINSTON.

Love his ability to fake right as soon as he gets the ball then cut back inside on his left. Always seems to create a path to give him space to take a few steps and open up play on his left. Then does the damage with his foot skills. Smart footballer as well as skilled.

For the sake of clarity King is still dumb.
s**t human for sure.

Whoever posted the stats about Cunnington and Jed being inside players and Polec and Dumont being outside with only Higgins the one who can win his own ball, highlighted exactly what was wrong with the team. It was an excellent piece of analysis and why teams opened us up early on.
The death of Brad IMO.
He got the 6-6-6 so wrong that he thought having wingers and outside receivers hanging on the exterior of the contest would be the way to maximize the space. He was so wrong. We were doing twice as much work and would be gassed by the fourth quarter. Chasing tail will do that to you.
The better teams and better coached sides had 6 midfielders ready to hunt and win ball on instinct and this is why Brad is out of a job at the minute. Complete balls up.

Very good footballer, actually didn't think he was this well rounded watching him here and then for Port. Has barely lost a contest or made a mistake in weeks. Might have the Higgins trajectory of going from outside to inside.

Hasn't even peaked yet.

Absolutely agree with this. Will say however that though you may be right unfortunately Polec never is.
