We're all angry with the insipid performance, but that shouldn't induce totally irrational assessments of individuals.

It's irrational to go overboard on any players without focusing on the system.

If folks think a couple of changes here & there is going to fix things, then they are seriously kidding themselves.

If anything, this stuff exposes a posters poor football I.Q.

Couple of contests on the half-forward wing late in the game. It might just be that he's holding his positioning too well, but there were times where you could see the contest was being lost and he made no attempt to close in and contend for the ball himself or even move from an offensive to a defensive positioning.
 
There was also a very half arsed spoil at chb where he kind of drifted across the front without really contesting. I don't hold that against him tho, on the whole it was a solid first hit out for our club. It just caught my eye at the time. It was at around 6:55pm

Glad you're on board with this. Have been saying the same for a couple of years.

Injecting a couple of superstars into a system that goes flaky under pressure was never going to win a thing.

Rather than comparing coach to coach, it's interesting to see the comparative treatment of Wells' between football systems. One thing Collingwood had going last year was players buying into a gameplan that required high fitness and discipline to execute.

I suspect he was injured, but my point is that it's not always North in the wrong.

If he was injured, then that's something Collingwood couldn't address any better than we could.

If he was left out for not meeting their (alleged) superior high performance standards, then that decision sure blew up in their faces.

Either way, I don't accept the contention that Collingwood has superior system to us, and it's certainly not a view supported by the Wells example.
