Great pickup, was easily a top 15 or so I thought, although I don't get to watch as much as some.
Quick, hard midfield/forward who could impact straight away (think a cocky/parfitt type).
Has an awkward, but decent, kicking style.

Player Focus

Kicking two of his three goals from stoppages within 20m from goal, Lachlan Fogarty was listed as Western's best for the third week in a row. Fogarty proved to be a match winner in Western's 23-point win against Calder. Fogarty, in his last chance to impress recruiters before the Under-18 All Star match, gathered 24 disposals, 11 contested possessions, 15 tackles, six clearances, seven inside 50s and three goals.

Fogarty, who has been one of Western's best in all seven of his games, has been rock solid as a midfielder who can push forward for a goal. The 179cm, 75kg, tackling machine runs both ways and is a solid contested ball-winner. He also displays composure with ball in hand and generally uses it cleanly.

Fogarty is viewed as a potential second round selection. His play has a feel not dissimilar to Callum Brown, one of Collingwood's 2016 father-son choices, as a small but hard-nosed midfielder who can also play forward.

just looking at the vid catempire posted; always hard to tell much from these vids as they never include the times young players stuff up - but I do like the way he's comfortable swinging onto the left foot when necessary ..

Can't complain with this choice, he looks a class act.
I love midfielders that are quick, tackle, can mark and goal. Ticks a lot of boxes tbh and perfect for our list.
He will add a lot of class, and him and Parfitt would make excellent rotations in the midfield.

When I heard we got Fogarty I was straight on the phone to someone on the coaching panel at WJ and this is his response
“He’s a gun mate.... never seen a kid chase, harass and tackle like him. He plays like Kieran Jack
They got him for a steal in my opinion“
