Stocker’s three-vote performances included:
  • 19 disposals, nine tackles and five clearances in a 45-point win against the Northern Knights at SkyBus Stadium in Round 1;
  • 30 disposals, 10 clearances and six inside-50s in a 22-point win against the Eastern Ranges in Round 9;
  • 20 disposals, seven tackles, six clearances and one goal in a three-point win against the Oakleigh Chargers at Warrawee Park in Round 10; and
  • 35 disposals, 12 inside-50s, nine clearances and one goal in an eight-point win against the Bendigo Pioneers in Round 13.
Stocker joins the likes of Jack Higgins (2017 – Oakleigh Chargers), Hugh McCluggage (2016 – GWV Rebels) and Clayton Oliver (2015 – Murray Bushrangers) as recent winners of the Morrish Medal.
That’s quality company. Great research, thanks Champ.

We select Walsh then I head off to read a few books and put my 3 year old to bed. Come back to this.

Going to need a bit for this to sink in.

Crows obviously gambling to get a top 3 pick next year.

I rkn we will win more games than everyone expects though. Adelaide might end up with our pick 6ish and hopefully they have a junk year and give us a pick back not too far after that.

Sounds like we picked up two guys who, along with Cripps, Doc and Dow, have elite potential but also ooze leadership and professionalism in themselves that can extend to others.

The impact of good players with strong leadership characteristics is like having an extra player on the field. They win you premierships.

It’s a huge boost for SPS, Fisher and LOB who can only benefit from this corum through the middle.

Good point. Not having a top of the draft pick didn't stop Essendon from trading in Dylan Shiel. Perhaps that's the perspective we need to take instead of "****! The sky is falling, we don't have our annual top 3-4 pick!"
That's the way I look at it too, at the times I feel a pick between 8-12 is as valuable as a top 5 pick in regards to trading for a player, clubs will absolutely look to bend you over if you have a top 5 pick.

Welcome Liam!!!

Imagine if we finished above Adelaide next year. The trade would well and truly be stocked in SOS's favour.

Yes there is an element of risk in the trade (as there is in most player transactions)

I am happy the club is at least planning to have ambition and rise up the ladder in 2019

I am happy we have gotten ourselves back into this draft

Tomorrow’s hero is now our’s. Looks clean and would be accustomed to hitting up big forwards after kicking to the King boys at Sandie. Gov, Harry and Charlie say hi!
Right. Now I'm excited.

Just sounds like a really well grounded, mature kid. So impressed with how he spoke.

Got a good frame on him already. Will play footy next year.
