I actually don't mind this deal for both clubs. It certainly comes with some risk from Adelaides perspective though we never get truly top end picks so this may well get us there. Even this year with so many picks short of going all in we still wouldn't have had a chance in getting to the top end. From a Carlton viewpoint it says to me SOS believes the core of the list is now ready to start winning some games and advancing. Now whether that happens next year probably won't make much difference in the long run, especially as you'll still have a first round pick wherever it falls.

Naturally people from either side will turn it into a pissing contest but I can see the merit in the deal from both sides.
50 plus likes on an arch rival's board? respect dirty crow bastard.........:thumbsu:

Looking at Stockers highlights way different. His kicking has more penetration (and handballs), is quicker.
Thinks faster, is waaaay stronger through the hips, is a sensational kick to a leading target off either foot, doesn't mind getting tackled, doesn't need a minute to get set for a kick when bursting from a stoppage...

You know, almost as though they're completely dissimilar players, despite playing the same position.

Anyone know what he's speed is Like?
According to the 'strengths' section of Knightmare's draft profile, it puts as one of his strengths 'burst speed over 5m', and if you watch pretty much any set of his highlights it's pretty apparent. He's agile as ****, able to turn sharp corners, and he's quick enough and strong enough through the hips to break free. He's not Fisher 'sidestep and he's gone' pace, but he's not slow.

Is has a little Shiel about him. Better kick though.

I actually see a fair bit of Jack Viney in him.
It's like when you see an opener who genuinely enjoys facing the quicker bowlers. Where others hesitate, move slowly, duck and weave, they don't even bother and just play the bloody thing without fear.

Liam clearly likes the rough stuff, not afraid to get in and at it.

Does come across as the type where nothing seems to overawe/phase them, I guess it comes down to a flight or fight response.

as opposed to the twin clowns Rogers and Hughes? There was a fair bit of swing and hope in their selections

The Paddy Cripps selection in 2013 by Rogers was astonishingly brave at the time. Just imagine if we didn't have Paddy at the club last season ? Would we have actually won a game. Lets remember how badly run the club was run in the time of the Hughes and Rogers regime (esp woth recruiting and player development resources).

I wake up every morning counting my blessings that Patrick Cripps is a Carlton player.
