Sorry if this has already been posted - I laughed my arse off at his response to Judd giving him his guernsey: "That was really special, I was sort of lost for words. I'm pretty sure he did say something to me, but I've... forgotten... everything he said." :D

This is no ordinary draftee.
This is 17,18 and onward.... dreaming
Special kid.

Dow, IMO, has the the ability to be our best player (crippa included). Kid is nuts. I suspect he will play about 90% of his next 250 games in the midfield.

Dows ceiling is a short dangerfield

I don't think he's that skillful by foot

But am optimistic of him being a genuine gun

Reckon you can play him as an inside or outside mid

Cripps, Kennedy and Stocker seem like inside only (Cripps can spell up forwaed).

I reckon you can play all of them, just.

Cripps
Dow
SPS
Fisher
Walsh
Stocker
Setterfield
Kennedy
O'Brien (might have to be a flanker)

That's 9 very solid prospects, plus we will have 2 firsts on the table for Tarranto next year.

I think LOb is a perfect winger and we know Kennedy can play as a half fwd (his best games were there).

Our starting centre sq will be cripps, Dow and walsh (in 1-2 years)

Rotation is Kennedy, stock, fish

3rd option is setters, sps and then either dow or fish for the burst pace.

Some bloody good lineups there.

I suspect fish will play on the other wing but predominantly play around the ball after the centre sq.

Obrien will be a running half back

Jesus. Cripps is huge! Nice environment.
just catching up on the audi and video from the draft and wow this guy inpressed me with his interview. SOS saying they rated him top 10 (but wont say where) and to see both SOS and Bolts talk about how much of a competitor he is they have obviously identified him as a massive talent and wouldnt have done the deal if they didnt think he was worth it. The way Stocker talked about it being a good pressure that they made the trade for him you can tell it doesnt even phase him and thats what we need is mentally tough players out there. You can here it in the way he talks and SOS and Bolts have seen that. Also watched him videos, his ability to break out of packs, agility to maneuvre through traffic and ability to lower his eyes to hit targets all stood out to me (or what you can take for 2-3 minutes of highlights).

Congrats to him and SOS and co for making a bold move. You can see some absolutely clear, smart decision making and direction being made both in the trade period and thr draft now and the list starts to feel really well rounded now with Walsh and Stocker coming on, not to mention to project players and some experience through the rookie draft. A+ effort this draft could be happier. Really feels like a tipping point and now moreso a matter of when and not if.

I am happy for the Crow horts to, well, be pedantic and say they have effectively got next years No1 pick for 19. Liam looks good enough (imo) and crickey we have next years No1 pick but a year earlier, whats not to like?

Reflects how surprised we are about getting another first round pick and how little we know about Stocker.

How many posts on Stocker before draft night compared to Walsh on this forum?
Dunno, but Jimmae picked him at 13 for cats in the phantom

Twomeys last phantom picked him at 19 and gave him a good wrap:

Liam Stocker
POS: Midfielder
Ht 183cm, Wt 83kg, DOB 23/1/00
From Sandringham Dragons/Vic Metro
October ranking: 18

An excellent second half of the season saw Stocker storm home to take out the TAC Cup's Morrish Medal. He's a hard-bodied, big and strong inside midfielder who kicks the ball well on both feet. He's confident in his ability and averaged 22 disposals a game for the Dragons this year. Stocker has come from a little further back than others given he missed the national carnival with a broken jaw, but he made up for lost time to push himself into first-round contention.

Where does he go? Another who is a chance to end up as a Giant, while Richmond could also have a think about Stocker with their first choice. Melbourne looks a possible home at No.23 if he got that far.
