He probably needs to get to a high 80's type weight to be effective as a winger. The scope he has out there is unparallelled in the league. Great kick off both sides, has the height to be able to outmark most and has a very rare combination of naturally high endurance and speed.

Essendon fans want to pigeon hole players so early in their career when it may not be the best thing for their development. Let's see what happens with him but he's shown great scope as a winger so far.

He played 2021 at 87kg. Think Ridley’s body development is a good comparison for Cox expect him to end up around mid 90s without looking bulky at all.

One of the most stupid, misleading articles I’ve read on AFL.com. Totally flawed.
Ha, check out the "New Look at the Dees flag winning burst" video they've thrown up today. It's just the same set of highlights we've already seen before.

Probably the worst football article I’ve ever read. Absolute dribble.
Well being based on just ratings it was never going to reach any great heights.

I think Champion Data uses modelling designed by Neil Ferguson. It's a lot of fun, you get to put in the same inputs and get a different result each time.

It's the new era of excitement-based modelling. Very good for AFL stats and pandemic management.

I believe that's called maths

My brother specialises in sports economics. Just finished his PhD at Harvard and now at UniMelb. He's worked with a few footy teams (Cats and some others, I think). He looks at the way in which performance indicators are linked to player contractors in sport.

Does he include 'number of instagram followers' as a metric?

In a way I think he does as I asked him about the 'media pull' of players and he says that is taken into account.
