Cox absent from the 2k time trial due to foot soreness under the first toe, scan showed inflammation of the sesamoid bones. Put on a bit of weight over the off-season, so they're off-loading him and he'll be back running this week. Being cautious. He's done a full off-season program just getting back into the boots and into a bit of footy has caused it to flare up.

Id be happy to not see him till the new year

A natural aerboic athlete and a strong training block post new year will be fine for him heading into the season

Not really given I quoted a comment about new age computer modelling.

Computer modelling has its place. When you're talking about a controllable amount of variables and a system that does not know it is being studied. Climate modelling is good, economic modelling is not good because the system you're modelling knows that it is being studied and changes its behaviour based upon the modelling you're doing.

Not really a discussion for here but in the end modelling is always limited to the data available or used. Even climate modelling is based on data collected mostly in the last 100 to 150 years and the planet has been around for 1000's of years.

Only according to the bible…

A few billion according to science 😉
And the more reliable data is from ice cores with layers of atmospheric bubbles that go back hundreds of thousands of years lol. Definitely a story for another thread though.

With the amount of time we spend trying not to talk about mathematical modelling on here it might well be time for its own thread in the hangar.

It’s only fun to talk about when it’s in threads it’s not supposed to be in though. You know how it works.

There are 1000's in billions . I could not tell you what is in the bible. Is there a picture of Nick Cox , greatest AFL player of all time ?

96-97kgs now. Still skinny as. 13kgs in one season is massive. He's going to be huge.

Hope he does not end up huge. His mobility is one of his best weapons. Certainly very rare for a player to gain 13kg in a season.

It's rare because that increase at their age in one go often leads to issues with the large amount of running they do.
He would want to be very careful with his workloads.

Caveat: I know nothing about this kind of thing.

He said he has put on the weight without really trying, so I'm wondering how much of this would simply have been natural growth. If the running has always been there, and the weight gain has been natural, wouldn't the conditioning be somehow naturally proportionate to that?
