Given the lack of quality talls and the likelihood of talls slipping to the PSD or RD I am happy to pick up a quality small forward with the ability to go through the midfield.

The fact he played in defence at Norwood this season speaks of his ability to work hard defensively as he would not have been gifted a game. To top off his season playing in Norwood's senior premiership side shows he wasn't just making up the numbers.

I am leaning towards this being a sneaky good pick.

Usually wary of drafting short people but two things stand out: his skill and, based on what Bomber said, his defensive nous.

It sets him apart from Colyer, for example, who tends to lack the skill to best take advantage of his mobility and the defensive mindset to compensate for a lack of strength over the ball.

Lots of water to pass under the bridge but I've got nothing against the pick and that we clearly used Basset's insight to recruit him does lend a bit of excitement to it all.

Really like the idea of picking a genuine small forward who has some capacity to rotate into the midfield.

We don't really have his type, so wouldn't be shocked if played a game or two in the seniors next year despite his size.

I have a mate from uni called Orazio and I just call him Ori. Far easier, hopefully that's what the boys call him.
