Prove that it is a "dead cat bounce"......

The underlying trend is still down ...

... it's a dead cat bounce alright

Why don't you remove finals attendances from that chart?

We had home finals in 2005 (x2), 06 (x2), 08 and 09. Comparing minor round games to finals is pointless, unless you prefer to see this year out before mouthing off (much like your "I've seen no improvement in the Kamry Krows" spectacular failure of a thread).

37000 people have paid to be a member and only 14500 show up

How is that the SANFL's fault?

It is Port's own fault. This is from Port's 2011 annual report:

"The club has achieved progress on a number of other key objectives, most notably the reunification of the Port Adelaide Football Club. Approved in late 2010, the merger delivered important benefits through 2011. These included an increase in membership to more than 36,000, the delivery of marketing and sponsorship opportunities and the achievement of important cost efficiencies."

They count Magpie fans AND Port Power fans in the one figure. Some Magpie fans would never attend a Power Game. That would be part of the reason Geoffa.

For the same reason the Kamry Krows Korporation are about to post their third lowest crowds ever despite probably finishing top 4.

For the same reason the Kamry Krows Korporation crowds have been on the slide for the last 5 years.

For the same reason that other clubs don’t get all their members to all of their games.

I have answered them.

How about answering them without reference to the Crows OR other clubs?

Thanks Triggy but it was a $611K loss after all expenses. :thumbsu:

No I'm sorry. You are wrong again. It was $611k loss after counting the depreciation on the new Westpac centre. A financial anomaly that has no real impact on cash coming in or out of the club. Depreciation is not an expense.

This is the biggest fail out there.
Adelaide Oval in 2014 won't save you then, because as much as Port is looking forward to it, the capacity is reported to be around 55K which is larger than AAMI. Isn't this just going to make things worse? More covers, less atmosphere......

So we are not forced to play in a stadium that is too big for us?

Depreciation is an expense. The idea of large capital outlays is to make money out of them while they depreciate.

It may techinically be viewed as an expense but how much cash outlay did the crows have to put out for it? How much money did it take out of the cashflow for the year?

But if "AAMI is too big" is a real concern for the club, how come the club itself is looking forward to Adelaide Oval? It can only be that your premise is wrong.

We get to negotiate a new stadium deal. Unlike Futile Park, but like most other stadia around the country some stands will be able to be closed. Port will be able to hire a lower configuration (eg 25K or 35K) at a lower cost. The Camry Crows will have to hire the full 55K configuration at full price. Lets hope you start averaging more than 36K.

What about them?... they aren't relevant in this measure.:thumbsu:

Lets compare years with home finals against each other. And all years can be compared with regular season games. Home finals are special events and you need to compare like with like for valid stats.

If we manage a home final or 2 then a comparison of other finals years is valid.

It is an expense as the facilities will have to be replaced.

No they wont. They will have to be maintained. Not replaced. Those maintenance costs are already accounted for in our expenses regardless. So try again.

A well used image, I know, but totally applicable response to the above...

But if 50k of season tickets are sold the seats are still paid for
