We have had more success than the Crows this century :D. Great to see you admit the Power will always exist as well mate, it's always refreshing to see a Crows fan with half a brain :thumbsu:

By the way in the current state, the $ANFL does need us to prosper as that's how they make their money, off us! No Power = less money for the SANFL competition. Same goes for the Crows, we are the SANFL's cash cows which is really sad to be honest.

As I said they only need you to exist. Prosper means playing finals and building a squad to contend a flag.

Look to the NBA to see the model the AFL is chasing. More teams means more TV rights money, but few of those teams are ever really going to win a Championship.

Existance is guranteed by the AFL and SANFL. The club/supporters needs to do the rest to make it prosper. That is what makes up the gap between us and you. As both clubs operate in the exact same environment in regards to the SANFL. Well kinda, you guys don't pay an annual distribution or Northern Grandstand payment. These two cost us $1.2m each year.

D's posting is down, down, very ****ing down.

This has been one of the best ownings for a long time :)

FACT: Poort got their second lowest crowd against Freo
FACT: Adelaide consistently average more crowds than Poort
FACT: That 70-30 split that D talks about comes from 2010. It could be different now but D won't ever acknowledge that.
FACT: 37,000 members and yet only getting 14,000 to a game (500 at a guess were Freo). That's pretty damning
FACT: If it weren't for handouts, Poort would be down, down and technically insolvent
FACT: No matter what stats you can spin D, no-one will be fooled.
FACT: Poort are shit and are a ****ing disgrace

Wow that really show the Camry Crows downward trend thanks.

Here it is again ... without hiding the detail.

cccrowds5.jpg
This year could be the first year of the trend turning.

Just in time for Adelaide Oval.

Heard on AA this morning only a couple hundred tickets left for this weekends game. A 40,000+ crowd for the worst timeslot would be nice.

Here is a graph of the Home Games including finals I have previously posted with a 5 year moving average.
If Showdowns are removed as regular season home games (like D_One's Graph) look at the subtle but noticeable difference it makes to the "drop off" at the end. It accentuates it in the graph, the red line is clearly below the black line that includes the Showdowns during the last 3 years. In the last 3 years the Showdown crowds are quite a bit above average so excluding them drops the whole average for that year.

I know you non-numbers people are really bored, but I think someone better be careful before calling others a "lying sack of shit" because infact he has been very sneakily lying this whole time in an attempt to troll.

Well done Mattrox on pointing out the nosedive in Camry Crows crowds.:thumbsu:

has anyone posted the stats for this year only yet? (in terms of percentages only will be fine. raw data only, no need to link it to the mythical 70:30 split as that isn't relevant)

D_One19 owned again!
Obviously the Swans are low recently due to the work being done at the SCG!
Its clear how you manipulate and stretch facts to try and suit your argument.
Fact is Port are crap and a disgrace to the AFL...

Getting 13,505 to a 34,000 seat capacity stadium while you are top four.

That sounds like a stadium capacity issue to me too.

By yer way the polynomial is an incorrect and invalid way too look at crowds, the reason is it generates a line base on the crowd numbers and the numerical value of the year. It implies that the crowd numbers will follow a pattern based on the numerical value of the year.

The moving average is the correct way to analyse, but you can't just look at one line. Tu would really need to look at the 3, 5, 10, & 15 year moving averages to observe trends.

In addition a 'dead cat bounce' is when the graph bottoms right out, has a sharp rise, then drops again. You will see one in the other thread PoRt Powers 2012 season. Notice the spike for the showdown and plummet after.

D_One, it is late in the last quarter and you are down by 119, you can keep going but you will make it 165.

That explains the fact that you haven't won a premiership this century but we have.:thumbsu:

Here's a stat.

AFL Premierships:

Port Adelaide: 1
Fremantle: Zero, zip, zilch, nada, SFA, nought, a big duck egg. :thumbsu:

I think the polynomial shows the real trend of the Camry Crows crowds. Limited by capacity in the 90s there is a slight increase in line with the opening of the Northern Stand followed by the obvious nosedive that every Camry Crows fan is so keen to deny.

Good on you, you won your start up flag. The one the AFL gifts you.

Second flag is the one you earn.

We were contenders in 05/06 and choked, now building towards the next few years.

Port are yet to do this, build a contender side with no start up concession players on the list. We did it within 15 years of existance. It is Port Power's 16th year now.

With all the help they got at the start they should have 2-3 flags.

Yes. Because your crowds are down you are only getting 63% of the total Futile Park crowd despite being in the top 4 for most of the year.

Pathetic really for a club with 70% of the two club support.

please stick to the requirement, you pathetic flog. i clearly asked without the 70:30 split

turns out your posting is very similar to your team, theres a distinct failure to follow instruction..

No the AFL will when they take away the licence from the SANFL due to gross mismanagement.:thumbsu:

What impact does the SANFL holding the licence have on the Stadium Deal?

It is the Stadium Deal and the structure of revenue collection on match day that is handicapping the clubs. How will holding our own licences change this.

And don't answer with the rubbish that you can then negotiate with another smaller stadium to play out of so your 15-20k crowds are profitible. AFL football in SA will be played at the 50,000+ capacity Adelaide Oval.

Now the one advantage I can see in the licence changing hands, and becoming a true membership based club would be that the members will have real rights. And thus can have a say in who runs the club and remove some of those running the club into the ground from within. It is nice to see the Lemmings on the Port Board slowly starting to realise that their "membership" is nothing but a season ticket. Sure you can vote a number of Directors to the board, but the most recent ones are all unapposed, after the SAFA (SANFL in reality) approves "their" candidates.
