Please educate me then Gobba.
Gone through this before, more than once.

Put simply it is not really an expense in the traditional sense as Net Assets (and thus value of the business) increased. The AFC's net worth increased last year, despite making a loss after depreciation. The actual profit is irrelevant given there is no profit distribution.

As Mattox showed yesterday, complex theories make you resort to "Liar Liar" claims.

It is an expense and Mattrox tried passing of a lie wrapped around a simple theory. When the theory was tested he was exposed as a lying sack of shit. Did you wonder why he never showed the mathematical workings?

yes it is an expense, if this is the limit of your understanding of Accounting Theory.

He did not need to show his workings, it was obvious and simple to most of us to see how he got the result.

Dunno, don't care.

Could not care less if they on the Net or not. At least the ones made public are full statements, and not an not an edited version.

Are you sure Port members cant get full statements.

As all I know is Port release their financial report to the public yearly, the Camry Crows don't.

Depreciation is a non-cash expense. Google it, you idiot.

Oh really........ think I remember saying that some time back you idiot

This is why its not included in an Operational Profit/Loss or EBITDA.......... Earnings Before Interest, Taxes DEPRECIATION, and Amortization.

Hence we made a $385k 'OPERATIONAL PROFIT' in 2011

I know that depreciation is an expense and I know that Mattrox lied and that you tried to save him.

But it is an expense and as a result the Camry Crows posted a loss last year. Is this too complicated for you?

"$4.05 million was received in 2011 and $1.95 million in 2010. Although $4.25 million in funding
support was committed in 2010, as only $2.2 million was received by 31 October
2010, relevant accounting standards required that only received grants could be
recognised as income in 2010. The remaining $2.05 million was received in 2011."

Port reported a profit of 887K but only did so on the basis of the above grant. A government grant was given to help out the club, without this grant, 2 Mil which was recieved in 2011, the club would have reported a loss!

As I said, Matt does not understand the concept of an Operating Profit.

Much like Mattox's simple calculations went over his head.

He is an idiot.

Show it to us then.

You are more than happy to make the Crows ones happy. Show us the full copy of the Port Statements.

I have never argued we posted a financial loss last year but you cant seem to come to terms with the fact we made a OPERATIONAL PROFIT. Which to anyone with half a brain tells you how a business is really performing.

It seems that even 'book keeping 101' is even too complex for a simpleton such as yourself.

Yawn. This has been done to death. What has this got to do with the fact that the Camry Crows have posted consecutive financial losses?

And yet Net Worth has increased.

What is the value of profits for an entity that does not pay any distributions to anyone, when Net Worth of the entity has increased?
