So a KD who has 'defensive accountability' listed as an area in need of improvement?

Easier to teach him how to play one on one then it is to make someone grow taller or run faster or read the play

He has the raw tools for the club to work with and develop

I don't mind this pick. Would have hoped to get more out of the Bombers though
We only went back 1 spot however....

The Essendon trade was quite interesting, because the second Geelong agreed to it, Essendon really should known we were never actually going to draft Caddy.

So we extracted a pick for nothing.

There is no way we do that deal unless we we were taking O’Sullivan anyway.

I don’t know why so many clubs give up info on who they want. Geelong are at least professional about it and seemingly used it to their advantage here.

If that's the case why didn't we use a middling pick to move up 1 spot ourselves
you wanted to use 25 to get to pick 7 and move up 1 spot?

Sure we could have I guess but GWS seemed to get more than that.

But you should ask Wells and Mackie.

As my position ..trust the club to pick BA. Tick are tehy right? Check back in a few.

But my preference is to go tall. Tick.

The kid was capt of the dominant Allies side ... and KPD are in such high demand..I thinks it fair to spend if you want one. Hopefully a good one.

So very happy.

Is he a utility like Blitz? Yes it says his a defender but it says he plays forward and midfield 🤔

He would have a bit to learn about playing midfield craft wise but he certainly has the height and the endurance to play anywhere including 2nd ruck/mid but i expect he starts down back for us given the need our vfl team will have there.

essendon may have been worried we would sell the pick to another club who would take caddy so they took the risk out. But i agree we obviously werent going to take caddy so we essentially got a r2 for free.

This is an awesome selection. The more I’m finding out about COS, the more I see why we picked him. Our defence is definitely set up nicely for the next 10 years with SDK, COS and Henry as key pillars (Henry acting as the swingman), then other players who can play through defence like MOC, Zuthrie and Mullin who are all 24 or younger too. Definitely adds weight to us having plans on poaching a key forward via trade hopefully next year - JUH or Cadman come to mind. Next year’s draft is apparently more midfield heavy, so keeping our F1 to get a good one then makes a lot of sense. I’m predicting Hastie, Stevens and Rudd for our other selections and then keeping a spot open for pre-season or mid-season draft.

Could possibly turn into the Blicvas replacement eventually

Having Mark O'Connor and Connor O'Sullivan in our backline is going to confuse the shit out of BT.

They can iron out his one on one game... He's a great mark of the footy, which is no1 skill to have for these Key Position blokes.

It's a solid selection. No issues with taking him, and especially extracting an extra mid-range pick from Dons.

I’m actually pretty excited by this pick. Not quite at the Cockatoo draft level of excited but feeling more confident that this won’t be a bust pick.

We needed additional flexibility with our talls so great addition to squad. I can’t see this being a bust pick. His kicking looks well above average which is encouraging.

We’re still a couple of star young mids short for the future but fingers crossed one or two on the list can make a big step up next year.

One thing i found out for certain tonight from the GFC...

We rate COS highly, and dont rate Caddy very highly.. And we got a free pick out of the bombers while picking the same player with the next pick.

His marking game has to just about the best in this drafr pool?? 14 marks and 26 disposals against WA.. Averaged close to 9 marks a game in the champs and 17 touches... Incredibly good numbers for a key position player.

What really stands out to me is his game continued to stand up and improve at the champs and stood out, while some other highly rated players went quiet or dropped off.. Is a good sign

Damn it, we all seem pretty happy, that's not a good sign!!!

Quick, somebody melt, it's the only way that he'll go down as a legend and play 300 games!!!

Looks like he gets lost easily, panics under pressure and can't kick. Will be delisted and never get a game in the firsts. I am very disappointed in the drafting team and considering boycotting next season in protest.

We good?
