Awesome! After weeks of the boots getting layed into us, this is mostly what i was interested in as a positive indicator.

Ridley is a true anomaly to some of the odd practices the club has been going with and it gives that little spark of hope that we may finally be improving with development rather than sticking bandaids on everything...

We're not satisfied with our season by any stretch and we have a lot of hard work to do this pre-season but under 'Truck' (Rutten), I'm really confident in where we're heading over the next few years as a group. It's going to be pretty exciting to be a part of it for at least the next four years to see what we can all do together

Hopefully he can take responsibility of that backline and direct the play and our defenders a lot more. Hurley can take a backseat while still supporting

Terrific news. Honestly the picture for the Bombers is not nearly as bleak as some would have us believe. With Ridley, McGrath and Draper to build around we aren't starting from rock bottom.

just re-reading his draft bio on page one - jeez..does exactly what it says on the tin.. maybe recruiting isn't that hard..

Team: Oakliegh Chargers
Height: 192
Weight: 79
DOB: 20/10/98

TAC Games: 16
AVG Disposals: 19.6
Goals: 9

Player Traits: Andrew Mackie, Sam Gilbert
Position: Defender/Forward

Bio: Ridley is a talented defender who started as a forward. He has great hands and is a good judge of the ball in flight. He is still very light but is strong in the contest.

Ridley has had a good year which ended on a sour note after an injury in Oakleigh's last game. He had a terrific finals series showing great composure down back cutting of a lot of entries. His hands are very good he can take a grab and use the footy quickly by hand and is a decent user by foot.

Jordan is your prototype defender where he has the athleticism to go with talls and smalls he has decent speed and can zone of and rebound better than most players in this draft. He is confident and hardly flustered with ball in hand.

So I have been watching games I missed during the season this off-season and this guy has just about become my favourite defender in the league. Had heard the name but knew next to nothing about him before this year, but bloody hell he's a gun.
It's incredible how low-key he has gone about becoming close to elite.
