Doesnt help that its a ridiculously tough top 8 to get into you have Dogs at 9th with a percentage of 138%

I'm willing to bet just a standard injury run would mean we win the first Port game and the Dons, probably pinch Lions or Hawks.

Then in the 8

A win is a win and you take it everyday of the week

But gee I’m about as flat as can be after a win.

Extremely disappointing effort barring a few

Grundy awesome
Blakey awesome
Campbell excellent
Buller encouraging
Dattoli showed enough

But the rest of them should hang their heads. I know the season is over but Jesus Christ show some sort of effort, it’s not acceptable to just cash in your overpriced pay cheques for the last month of the season

Someone noted that Blakey was playing higher tonight. Yes, he was, at least partly because the bombers entries were shallow but he was able to come at the ball more than it coming at him. Best game from him in quite a while. Much more solid, some good intercepting and spoiling and a few good tackles as well. Enjoyed his work.

There’s a stink at this club or dropping heads and putting in 0 effort once things get too hard.

The players absolutely phoned that game in today. Effort gone out the window as soon as our finals chances did.

This isn’t the same club as the one in the 2000’s

Probably the effect of a second GF smashing in 2 years.

Cox is correct - onus on players to find motivation
“I didn't find it tough to get motivated, it's probably a question you ask of the players,” Cox said when asked if it was hard to motivate the players for what was essentially a dead rubber against the Bombers.

“I think as a footy club we have to finish the year off as well as we possibly can, and that was the message from the start of the week.

The team that will win at least 11 games is worse than the side that won 1 game and 3 spoons in a row?
Team being the key word IMO.
Talented individuals but they don’t gel well at all.
Heeney’s 5.1 to beat North an individually brilliant game.
Just got over Bombers & couldn’t shake them off even though Grundy dominates.

They will rejuvenate the list enough in the off season

I listened to the Fox interviews with Errol and Blakey, and then was in the car as another interview took place via MMM with McInerney. All made mention of not being able to play finals. Chad even mentioned it in his jumper presentation to Errol.

If that’s all they’re worried about and judging off a fair chunk of tonight, the next three weeks aren’t going to be a great watch.

Make the GF & then lose by 80.
This lot was done after Geelong GF.
We’ll win games. That’s it. Just games.

Maybe, I dunno, will see what we do, I think we need list changes for sure , won’t disagree, I have suggested a few who should go.

But I do think back to the original point, the idea this is like the early 90s is moronic

If they are as good as they think they are - and I don’t think they are but there’s a few in that team who think that they’re pretty effing special - they’ll be able to set themselves against Geelong and brisbane

And if they’re not that good it’ll be pretty valuable as a lesson in where they’re at

Rowie playing predominately forward was an interesting move. He tackles but his offensive output on ball is not up there with the best. I wonder whether there's a thought that we need a more productive midfield beast who not only tackles but gets 20+ with half a dozen clearances per game. Someone like Liber, Dunkley or Green.
I love Rowie from the effort he puts in, but if that is the best 'change up' we can find for him, then we should be trading him to somewhere that can get the best out of him. I still find it astounding how what got him up the draft in his draft year (being a much more balanced midfielder - tough but with a genuine attacking edge) has been willed out of him completely at the swans. Looks bereft of confidence, and sticking him up forward is not going to help.

Still think he can play a good role in a well balanced midfield, but not sure how he fits into the puzzle at this point in time.

Rowy as a pressure HFF I kind of love

But needs to somehow get better touch and finish

Then he can hunt running defenders for days

And I'm happy and think it's a HFF spot sewn up

I am more of a conspiracy theorist on this one.

I wouldn’t be surprised if Rowy got “Florented”.

Wouldn’t even be all that surprised if he’s tradeable in Cox’s view. Because seeing him out of the midfield rotation today was bizarre.

It’s pretty telling when a coach is commenting on his players motivation

Especially considering recent history.

Not a great look
I haven't seen the post match press conference, but I assume he was asked the question by a reporter?
