There’s a stink at this club or dropping heads and putting in 0 effort once things get too hard.
The players absolutely phoned that game in today. Effort gone out the window as soon as our finals chances did.
This isn’t the same club as the one in the 2000’s
Team being the key word IMO.The team that will win at least 11 games is worse than the side that won 1 game and 3 spoons in a row?
Team being the key word IMO.
Talented individuals but they don’t gel well at all.
Heeney’s 5.1 to beat North an individually brilliant game.
Just got over Bombers & couldn’t shake them off even though Grundy dominates.
Make the GF & then lose by 80.I'm willing to bet just a standard injury run would mean we win the first Port game and the Dons, probably pinch Lions or Hawks.
Then in the 8
Make the GF & then lose by 80.
This lot was done after Geelong GF.
We’ll win games. That’s it. Just games.
If they are as good as they think they are - and I don’t think they are but there’s a few in that team who think that they’re pretty effing special - they’ll be able to set themselves against Geelong and brisbaneI listened to the Fox interviews with Errol and Blakey, and then was in the car as another interview took place via MMM with McInerney. All made mention of not being able to play finals. Chad even mentioned it in his jumper presentation to Errol.
If that’s all they’re worried about and judging off a fair chunk of tonight, the next three weeks aren’t going to be a great watch.
I love Rowie from the effort he puts in, but if that is the best 'change up' we can find for him, then we should be trading him to somewhere that can get the best out of him. I still find it astounding how what got him up the draft in his draft year (being a much more balanced midfielder - tough but with a genuine attacking edge) has been willed out of him completely at the swans. Looks bereft of confidence, and sticking him up forward is not going to help.Rowie playing predominately forward was an interesting move. He tackles but his offensive output on ball is not up there with the best. I wonder whether there's a thought that we need a more productive midfield beast who not only tackles but gets 20+ with half a dozen clearances per game. Someone like Liber, Dunkley or Green.
I agree. I reckon we're rattled.Probably the effect of a second GF smashing in 2 years.
It’s pretty telling when a coach is commenting on his players motivation
Especially considering recent history.
Not a great look
Rowy as a pressure HFF I kind of love
But needs to somehow get better touch and finish
Then he can hunt running defenders for days
And I'm happy and think it's a HFF spot sewn up
I am more of a conspiracy theorist on this one.
I wouldn’t be surprised if Rowy got “Florented”.
Wouldn’t even be all that surprised if he’s tradeable in Cox’s view. Because seeing him out of the midfield rotation today was bizarre.
Yeah I noticed that too. I wonder what that was in response to?He looked pissed off at 3/4 time. Shaking his head after the team huddle.
I haven't seen the post match press conference, but I assume he was asked the question by a reporter? It’s pretty telling when a coach is commenting on his players motivation
