Ironic that he's wearing the number of an all time legend of SA footy, Garry McIntosh… who North signed/ nominated on a form 4 contract.. back in the day. Perhaps the only SA player who would of KILLED it had he come across and I still, to THIS DAY, would say that a G.McIntosh would of got North a FLAG in the 80's.. More harder than Russell Ebert ever was.

I still remember him playing in goals against the Irish.............well lets say went head hunting & was oblivious to the net even being there.

:D

Edit - It seems others remembered that as well.

And I betcha all these Cats fans were scrambling to find the footy record and look up who the HECK is this #14?? Upstaged ol' Joel as the IMPACT #14 on the field, that's for sure. Benny Cunnington did well to shadow Selwood and the amusing moment for me was Selwood's own medicine play when he collared the unheralded Lindsay Thomas in the last Q and the look of disappointment on Joel's face.. :D

Well umpired game.. :thumbsu:

I read with interest that Selwood dominated the game & even got votes for 29 possessions that
gathered a total of 98 metres or something crap like that for the game.

What a player he was, remember him and Tom Warhurst being linked to North for years via a Form 4. Warhurst was a FB and was okay but Macca was as tough as a Cats head and a gun player. Killed us every SOO.

I'd love to see Froggy get a run this week, even if he has a shocker, he's watching and playing against the premiers, good lessons from that.
Comes across as the type of kid that won't be in awe and intimidated. Go hard for the ball son. With Cunners, Spitta and JZ behind you you're in safe hands.

Yeah he doesn't seem overawed, but putting him Mitchell for a bit of time would be good education for him, even if he gets carved up a little

Macca was as tough as anyone Ive seen in the last 40 years. Won em and wore em', but it rarely stopped him. Diesel Williams had no idea he was biting off more than he could chew in a state game in 88'.

Anyhoo, seeing Frogs debut was easily my highlight of the round. Probably need to keep the expectation in check, but there's plenty of us that have long believed he would be a better player than Aish (albeit different styles and builds etc).

As a neutral AFL supporter, thats 2 weeks in a row your mob have been in the most entertaining game of the round, be pretty happy to see you guys go deep into the season. Best of luck!!
