Issue is we've loaded up on a lot of high quality mids. It's conceivable that all the major players in the midfield become 'special' within the next couple of years, in which case what does that mean for Trent?

DN: Trent Dumont is likely to play VFL next week.

Bit troubled by him being dropped from the leadership group and all the whispers about him heading to SA at the end of the year, but fair dinkum I can't wait until he's suiting up again in the seniors. His kind of consistent effort and ability to find the ball will put us in very good stead. After our shambles of a forward line and messing up risky kicks, 4 quarter (two way running!) effort and ability to find the pill have been our next two biggest weaknesses. He's versatile too: Wing, inside, flanks. Once his fitness and conditioning are up to standards he'll be invaluable in shoring up some of our current deficiencies.

Yep he’s your classic Consistent “vanilla” Type player , not good / not bad , know what you’re going to get week in week out that mind you every club has 1-2 of these .
But boy we could do with him right now !

I disagree. I think he's very good. It's just that what he's very good at isn't always obvious. You don't finish top 5 in the BnF for any club in, what, three consecutive years without being a good footballer.

We desperately need him back. Courage and leadership comes in many forms, it's not just putting your head over the footy or going back with the flight. In Frog's case, it's running and running, and then when he's got nothing in the tank it's running some more. His role as that defensive structural wingman is very underrated and really important in modern footy. Can't wait to see him back.

Good posts.

Plenty of very good players haven't had "tricks". Blakey, J.McVeigh, Ashcroft, Goodwin et al are all good players with an even spread of strengths who played their part in strong sides.

Will be over four months since the injury.

What the actual fu**?
Back in the Day didn't we have a guru of Fitness called the Turk that being Paul Turk who had the players fit and we had hardly any injuries his contract was up wanted a little bit more $$$ club said no and left to go to the Drug Club.
If we have players that are starting to get one injury after another then it may be time to move them on.
Now if North do lose him to a move back home then don't ask the world for him as we will get little in return may be at best a 3rd Round Selection.

Plenty of negative feedback about Paul Turk. He's no loss.
