One of my best mates is family friends with Dyl. Over Xmas they caught up and Stephens told him that after his contract at North he is packing up and never playing footy again.

Will touch base with him soon but I feel the penny has dropped and he is finding his groove.

I've been a nonbeliever but he is so clean by foot. Runs hard and lowers his eyes. Looks to be finally clicking for the boy.

Been awesome.
He was the hardest working runner of either team yesterday and it wasn't even close.

And yet, even after 15km, and more sprints than anyone, he rarely blazes away.

And two weeks in a row he was running past in the dying stages, and players did not to give it to him.
It certainly wont be the last time this happens because of the above..
In the same position, what's the bet someone finally gives it to him and he hits Darling lace out on the chest 35 from goal.

Just a real consistent patch of footy now and it stands out how much he looks and hits up targets with tough kicks going into the forward line.

It feels like his contest work has improved in line with his overall performance. Having less moments through the game where he tentatively approaches a contest. Good for him, spot on the wing is there for the taking and he's far better with ball in hand than some of his predecessors in that position.

My first time watching him live. There was several times when he had worked to the right spot and just didn’t get used.

Could be playing even better footy if we were just smarter with the ball.

Feels weird saying it because I absolutely hated watching him play last year.

I've been a believer from the day dot & I've just whacked a sneaky $10 on DS to make Top 10 Brownlow. Ca Ching.

Credit to Dylan for working on his game and seeing some results. A lot of players drop their heads when things don't go their way. He's had many critics but the coaching team saw something and kept playing him. I think he's a confidence player. He didn't get much of a look in at Sydney and seriously struggled with us in the early stages. If he starts to believe in himself he has the tools to become a seriously good footballer 🤞
The knock on him was his "intensity" but it appears this has been addressed

Without going too early, it's great to finally "do ok" off a trade.

Yeah, while it would have been smart to hold the end of first priority pick for the 2024 draft in retrospect, our only real cost was pick 44 at the time (as that PP wasn't guaranteed if we had a more successful season) receiving back Stephens and 25 from the Swans. Swans took Ned Bowman (26) and 44 went into matching for Cleary. It's really a nothing trade so it's a shame it's taken so long to be seen as a potential win.

Thought he showed a bit last year as a neat & tidy footballer .. so not a huge surprise he's improved again this year

Always a spot for decent skills and a big motor..

thought the soft cat thing was a bit overdone too

Me and my 67 mates call Dylan Stephens "Lethal". One because he moves like Leigh Matthews, but more so because of his "Lethal" left foot.
