Can I be honest? I think playing him in the forward line will not allow him to reach his potential. Sure we may look at team balance, but he looks more comfortable in the midfield to me.

Surely he will get more midfield time this coming year?

I don't know why, but I sometimes feel as if he is holding back.

I hope so.

I'd much rather Laverde in the mid and Langford up forward, than vise versa.

Seeing as midfielders like watson, heppell etc are going to rest forward more due to less rotations. Laverde will get reasonable midfield mins even if is listed on the team sheet in the fwd line. Assuming he breaks into the best 22.

I know a lot of people have cooled on Laverde, I'm not sure why. His ceiling is scarily high, is it because of his injury history? Inconsistency? He's still very young.
Probably because he hasn't really played a good game in his first two seasons. Just flashes so far. I still think he'll be very good.

The kid needs to get a good 10-15 streak of consecutive game to get confident in his body then he'll start throwing his weight around and start turning a few heads. His toughness and size will earn him midfield minutes and his overhead ability will get him sent to the forward line.
Versatility is key as shown in the doggies premiership so I've really got no problems with having players on our list that do their work in a few different parts of the ground. He & Langford should split rotate mid/fwd with each other throughout the whole game IMO.
