My urgency comes from the reality that the longer we let Baguley eat his own balls the closer he will get to playing a respectable game making him un-droppable for another 10 games. It's Murphy' law.

It's been a long time since we've had anything close to our best forwards available to play AFL. The moment they are fit they need to play to build a combination (which is probably even more important that the respective form of the individuals).

The only issue is that it's a week too soon for Laverde.

Realistically speaking, Dev Smith and Zaharakis are certainties to come in this week. Ham for Zaharakis is obvious, isn't Baguley the prime candidate to make way for Dev? You could make a case for perhaps Parish or Guelfi to be dropped based on how the coaching staff tend to react to things but purely on form, Baguley is the most deserving and supposedly fills a role in the team that Dev would be most suited to.

They rarely make changes like that. I would be stunned enough to think we've turned a corner if Baguley was to be dropped for anyone but a "forward". Our game plan is built of carrying the 6th forward every 1.5 weeks.

Yep, agree, he could do it better. Just saying, Laverde is not replacing bags, someone else who can crumb goals off the marking fwds, and provide pressure to defensive players coming out of the fwd line (insert name) will replace bags.

Who though? There's no one AFL ready that will bring that. Hence why Laverde is a far better option than Baguley because Laverde at least can mark and hit the score board.

Baguley doesn't provide any pressure and seems to be caught one-on-one inside 50 with defenders 10-20cm taller than him. It's partly why he gives away so many free kicks. Laverde can bring the ball to the ground if he doesn't mark it. He has the strength to at the very least force a stoppage.
