I have never liked the number of people calling for him to be traded over the past few years, he's been a great servant of the club
However, at 30 next year and with clear replacements coming on, I'd much rather keep someone like Prestia over Short. Would like to think we could get a 2nd rounder for him

it makes sense, he can still play and would add premiership experience and leadership to another team but if we're honest hes lost his spot in our team. need kids to be blooded thru hbf (and players that dont dump kick as ther default setting).

We can’t and won’t shop him around. Not good for culture. We can say that he’s not guaranteed a game every week and if he prefers to have a look at what’s out there we won’t stop him.

Smith is the obvious choice to be dropped for short. Not sure if there’s room for both banks and short in the backline though.

Wouldn’t be surprised if they move banks to a wing and short back to hbf.

Both Short & Banks are not good defensively and play too similar of a role. imo they can't play together.

In this draft probably not, given the 2nd round will likely start in the 30s, I'm not sure how many 3rd rounders will even get used

I don’t think it’s good to be shopping contracted players around, however, if Shorty wanted out because he’d been advised his position was not guaranteed and he had a suitor, then yes I’d be happy to facilitate that trade. Ask for a second rounder but take whatever we could get. Salary is the issue that would most likely prevent any possibility of this happening. To move him on I think the club would have to cough up part of his salary.

I don’t want us to damage the development of Banks by moving him to accomodate for Short. Banks now has to stay as a HBF. I still think we can play Short and Banks there, similar to how we had Short and Rioli there together.

half back flankers gonna love breaking through shorty tackles and going corridor, but at least if he ever sticks one htb within 55m we'll have a good chance at a goal

but i agree it's the only position for him if he's not gonna be played in the backline

i just feel like he'll be in for smith which will be unlucky for the kid, but what can ya do

He came as a hf. In the VFL team he was kicking goals for fun than the arrival of afl and dim sim deciding to make him a hb instead. He was a forward and didn't have th4e body for a defender. We had the quality around him to get over that problem as he can't even tackle a grandma.

100%. We need the pick and Short will be turning 30 in 6 months time.

He came as a hf. In the VFL team he was kicking goals for fun than the arrival of afl and dim sim deciding to make him a hb instead. He was a forward and didn't have th4e body for a defender. We had the quality around him to get over that problem as he can't even tackle a grandma.

His U18's he played mid, fwd and back in fairness.

He didnt kick goals for fun in the VFL.
